Cracking motor and the N54 is a great engine.
Personally I would keep the wheels but have them in black, but realise thats not to everyones taste. Would love to try DCT one day but as already said I think I would come away annoyed I havent got it.

If you haven't already, sign up to Audisport.net, UKMKIVs & SEATCupra.net and advertise it...there are normally plenty of people looking to upgrade their 1.8T's to something (S3, MK2 Cupra/R, Ed 30) with the K04 2.0T. I considered the move myself, then I drove RWD .

There were quite a few in the for sale thread mate, but she is sold now so I don't have any to hand.
It was never a massive looker - just an epic sledgehammer of doom for people who had spent much more Thanks for the further comments chaps, I did my first mod at the weekend so will post some pics up shortly! Matt |

Hope you sorted the BT issue out? If not, I might be popping to see Andrew soon about those brakes, so I could always pop in to try sort it! Thanks again - no hassles at all during the selling process and Chris' other car is rather nice too! Got me a little drive out which was nice Matt |

Nice pics matey ... where is it out of interest? I come from Skipton originally and the scenery looks like some of my old stomping grounds somewhere near CrossHills/Keighley/Silsden up on the tops?

Yeah it was up at the Cow and Calf mate so out that way!
I had a LOT of mods on the Golf - basically all the usual Stage 2+ stuff plus a few supporting mods for the engine. I also did tons of suspension stuff, but alas all gone now!! Matt |

Hi all,
Just a quick update following my drive around the North Yorkshire Dales this weekend. As most of you who know me will know, I've been busy on the mods front and some things have already happened, plus a few more to comes. Since I bought the car, I've carried out (or bought) the following modifications: Fitted Gloss Black Grilles (thanks DannyRado) Fitted Performance Friction drilled/vented disks all round (thanks Alpina_B3_Lux) Bought front and rear Cool Carbon brake pads for the 'Ring (thanks again Alpina_B3_Lux) Bought AR Catless Downpipes (thanks YvesD) Bought an Alpine Amp/Speaker upgrade along with Logic 7 subs (thanks Gizze) So basically I've been a busy bee. Especially spending and slightly less so fitting things, but the Downpipes and Alpine Kit will be a full weekend job between them between me and Ant1985 (thanks also to Ant1985 for fitting most of this stuff hehe.) When I fit the downpipes, I will also be fitting a JB4 and I am awaiting some word from Neil at BMS about that, so will fill you all in later on the outcome. I've posted some pics below of the car, but more of the roads I took her around this weekend can be seen in the Northern Meet thread. Basically though, I love this car more and more with every moment I get to drive her. I cannot believe how much the E92 335i package comes together for me vs the E90 335d or 135i I had before. The coupe feels more refined than the 335d did, whilst making a noise which is ten times better than the 135i even despite the identical engine. It's clearly all in the exhaust I guess!! On top of that, I love how balanced the coupe is - I would now never dream of telling someone that coupe and saloon are essentially the same. They feel totally different to me and I am really happy with this car so far. The DCT box is fantastic as well. It's definitely my favourite 'auto' so far and I love how smoothly it changes under normal circumstances, yet when in either m/s or manual modes (with sport on) it becomes quite a lot harsher and definitely lets me work the car. The only slight problem with the DCT in combination with the N54 is that it's a bit 'surgey' in 1st gear sometimes, but I've more or less got used to it. I'm not sure if that's a DCT problem in general, or if affects say the M3 and N55 335i as well - perhaps someone else can say? Anyway, couple of quick pics for you. Thanks Regards Matt |

Looking good Matt. Do you have a link for the brakes/pads that you bought?
If you bought the Logic 7 subs off Gizze then they are probably from my car so they've come from another AW 335i |

lol sorry Rog!
Idnan I bought them from Marcel (Alpina_B3_Lux) so he could probably help but I'm afraid I can't!! Quite possibly. I think Guy bought the subs and never fitted them. Mine has bog standard audio so this will be a very worthwhile upgrade! Matt |
