Your chance to experience Infineon Raceway is almost here. If you were part of the last event, you know how great of a time you'll enjoy.

Mark your calendars and sign up today. With this being one of the last events of the year, it will sell out fast. In fact, Sunday is already SOLD OUT.

Cost is $179 for Saturday or $299 for Saturday & Sunday. Sign up for HPDE2 if you have some track experience and do not need an instructor. Otherwise, sign up for HPDE1 and an instructor will be provided at no additional charge. There were 6-10 335's last event. Most drivers were from this forum. Driving on a road course is something every enthusiast should experience. If you have any modifications, this is a MUST. Besides, shouldn't improving driving skill be your first mod?

Sign up here:

Just paid today. HPDE2 sold out already. Signed up for HPDE1 instead. Free instructor I guess. I figure I'll use him the first session to judge my line. After that, I'll ask that I go it alone.

Fanatic1,
Think it won't be a problem because as of now, there is only one run group with 1&2 combined. No 'A' and 'B'.

Glad we have a few going. I bet there will be more as some do not post on forums when attending track events.

I now need a HD Hero. Are both of you two using one?

HD hero with firmware update to run upside down w/o having to convert (recommend). not sure whether to run the suction cup mount (current) or adhesive. 16GB SD card on the way too

Must you worry about battery life or do you simply use a cigarette lighter adapter?

Hey Dan, I have family coming in that weekend. Plus, looking at the registration HPDE 1 is already scooped up.

Are you or anyone planning to go to Thunder Hill on Novermber 26th or December 4th?

this from gopro site, pretty accurate so far:

Battery Type: Rechargeable 1100 mAh lithium-ion
Battery Life: Approx. 2.5 hrs
Charging: via USB to computer or optional power adapter
Charge Time: 80% capacity after 1 hour with optional power adapter; or 2 hours with a computer’s USB port

Anthony,
Infineon filled very fast this time. I still have fingers crossed for additional spots opening up. So don't give up just yet.

I'm not 100% on Thunderhill. I would like to go but know I can't November 26th. Anyways, where are you getting these dates? I don't see anything listed for 11/26. Also, Dec 3-5 appears to be 25hr racing. Who's offering HPDE?

Thanks Keith. I'm about to pull the trigger on the HD1080 through Ebay. $239 shipped seems pretty decent. There's also the new HD960 available at $179 but it doesn't do 720p at 60fps like the HD1080. Instead, the highest resolution at 60fps is 480p. Also, it loses the bus so that would mean I couldn't use the upcoming external battery or lcd.

Which one do you have? What quality resolution do you use? Lastly, is it pure trial and error to get the mounting location right? Do you hook it up to a camcorder first to see if you like the image it's capturing?

There's no HPDE events for those dates just a Teen Driving & Car Control Clinic (Nov 26) and as you mentioned the 25 hour endurance race (Dec4-5). I have a couple of buddies attending the 25 hour race. I may go to that one and support.

If another HPDE 1 group opens up, I'm in. Plus, this will be a good reason to purchase a helmet.

Can't wait to get mine and conduct my own tests. I have a camcorder with a video input so I plan to bring it along to the track. Figure that would be the easiest way to aim camera.

I took your advice and got an SD card. Went with a 16gb which should last the entire day. Oh, and I'm excited to say I got the HD Motorsport for $226 shipped from Amazon.

I guess we'll soon have video of eachother at the track. Woohoo.

Do you mean you're simply going to show up or is there some sort of show that day? Either way, glad you're going. Always see your name posted everywhere.
