Do you take your car to the car wash in the winter?

I need to wash under my car to rid the salt.

I run it through soft touch car washes in the summer so, yeah, I do it in winter as well. The touchless don't get that film layer off.

I ran a spiget to my garage and a hose so i can wash the car inside the garage to keep her clean. this also works by allowing me to wash the car outside if the outside spiget freezes.

I'm with Stein. It goes to a brushless (but not touchless) automatic 3 times a month, depending. It's safe, the car is mostly clean, but they can't clean the rims worth a damn. I end up doing those at home. I hand wax 3 times a year and usually get a wax in the wash to extend the life of the wax that I put on by hand.

When it gets above 32, I will take it a wash bay and spray it down. I will then fill at bucket up and wash it by hand. I take a hot chocolate with me to keep warm, and put gloves on while I am rinsing it.

Never use the brushes from the wash bay.

my BMW dealer gives free car washes, it's hand and hand dried. Good for winters and when spring arrives it's time to break out the Zaino to remove some of the minor spiders.

Touchless car wash 2x a week. They literally cake the Salt on the road by me. I can get a layer of salt dust just driving a short distance.

Last I had cared to look, there was still an ongoing debate over whether touchless car washes affect your clear. I only go to hand washes where I know and can see the washers changing media after each car.

I am fortunate to have mine hand washed once a week - even in the winter. My 08 335 looked like new after 3 long New England winters as a result. Dealer sold it in 3 days.
