there is a sound limit at tremblant and calabogie but no sound limit at tracks like mosport and watkins glen.

just to let you know, the car with the bastuck exhaust is very close to the sound limit of calabogie so be careful with what you do when it comes to exhaust mods.

And people, stop it with your noisy exhausts...There is a douche in my neighborhood with a white E92 M3 who just disturbs everyone.

If you really want a racecar do like jgalaxy.

Modded or stock, its the same thing...if you already start with better tires, brakes, etc, i think you'll be safer than starting stock. Im not gonna go back to stock just to "start trim".
The power is there but you can control it and not use it untill you are better.

on a different note.... just changed the battery on the green frog today.... i tested the battery myself and it looks like its not holding a charge as well as it should anymore. didnt want to wait until the battery went completely flat so i changed it pre-emptively.

quoted price from dealer = $300 + cost of 1 hour labor + tax
price of replacement battery from walmart (EverStart sealed battery) = $118 + tax +DIY

battery swap was very simple to do. took me 20 mins from start to finish and i was taking my own sweet time. plus the walmart battery has a 3 year warranty versus 1 year warranty on the porsche battery. and walmart battery has higher cold cranking amps than the stock battery as well. also has higher amp-hour rating (battery capacity).

cant believe how much of a rip off these stealerships are. anyone who needs to get a battery change should just pay me $20 to do it... thats how easy it is. one thing you need is to have a battery maintainer handy so you can make sure the car doesnt lose all its memory and go crazy when you disconnect the stock battery from the car.

That is where you are wrong. Better tires, better brakes make you go faster. And faster is dangerous without proper training.

You would be safer in a stock Toyota Echo... speeds would never be as high as with your M3.

Nice!! I totally agree with you, its so easy to install, i did it on my 328 last year but i got the battery from the dealership lolll....they wanted to so much to install it.

one question, since you are going to store the car, why didnt you wait until next spring? or it doesnt really matter?

You guys are funny, you trying to talk a mod junky out of his fix, LOL! Won't work, you can scream as loud as you want but the deaf will still not hear ya!

We care for you Fahad, so the suggestions of not modding for more powe were only for your safety.

Although this Catless x-pipe won't give you enough additional power to get you any more in trouble, it's not logical to get it because you surely will not pass sound limit at some tracks, this you can be sure of, this is not speculation. You can disagree all you want, doesn't mean you're right ha ha!

i dont know how close to the limit i am at tremblant because i never got the actual readings from the sound testing guy... at calabogie, they test your mufflers before you even go on track so i know that i am about 1 dB away from the sound limit. at tremblant, they only tell you when you are over because they test as you drive around the track and not before you go on the track like calabogie.

the best way around this issue would be to not touch the exhaust for now and go to tremblant early next season and ask the sound guy for your sound levels. this way you'll know how far or close you are to the limit at that track. i think calabogie's testing is slightly stricter than tremblant so you MIGHT be able to get away with that x-pipe over there but i think you should wait.

it doesnt really matter i guess... i could have done the battery swap next spring but i have time now so i figured i'd do it while i am free. also i do use a battery maintainer while its stored so i dont think its a big deal if i did it now or wait until later.

Curious, how did you register (code) the battery? Do you have the software and tools?

To be honest, I didn't code anything....I read that some people say you don't need to do it and some say you do, one of the service advisors was confused when I told him about registering/coding the battery so I didn't.

I also do not understand the need to code for a battery. I find it quite ridiculous, as if they are inventing ways to make us become completely dependent on the dealership, LOL! The lack of an oil gauge is one blatant attempt at making us become completely useless.

Why in this day and age it's more expensive to change something as basic as a battery is beyond me, we need to revolt and claim back our intelligence

Hahaha yea exaclty!! Mod bug just won't leave me alone, if it's not this mod, I'll find something else.....like a supercharger

I know you guys care and that's why I'm not getting pissed....I'm learning from you guys since you have more driving/track experience that me.

Looll true but also I'm not gonna go to every track event, I guess if it's over the limit, I have to pull the ugly exhaust tips that anthony had to put on his car lmao

Yea exactly!! They probably don't do anything and charge you for it....dealerships are such a rip off, they try to get every dollar from you lol.
Changing the battery is even easier than an oil change, just need to unplug wires, take the old battery out, put the new one then connect the wires.
What's sad is a lot of people get it done at the dealership thinking they are getting a special service haha
