Stolen Married Accesport
Hey guys. My car was broken into and my Cobb was stolen. I am running 2+ right now and was curious if anyone has had this problem before? As of now I have no way to get the flash off of my car. Any ideas? Email Cobb but I will not hear back until the 2nd from what the auto reply was.

Sorry to hear it man, thieves should be made examples of...
The only thing to remove the tune without the AP is to have the dealer flash your car with the BMW software or find someone local with an AP and have them instal over your flash and then uninstall it. It will flash a "generic" stock ROM into the DME.

Or at least keep it in the trunk in the pocket under the floor. Put it in a zip lock bag to in case you get water in there. I need on hand for when I can't get e85 and need to switch back to 93.
Never keep in center console or glove box....locked or not lol!!! |

Two things you should do after installing a Cobb AP:
1. save the stock ROM dump to your PC or dropbox or some place safe. 2. write down the serial number. This way, if the AP gets stolen, you can still flash back YOUR CAR'S factory info instead of having to write a generic flash, and Cobb may be able to help you with a replacement unit instead of buying a whole new unit at new cost. I'm sure stolen AP's have happened before. Best of luck to you OP.

There was a married Copp AP just sold a week or so ago in the for sale section if you want to look into that.

I am sure people break and lose their AP's all the time, it would be awful if they made you buy a new Full Priced AP

Insurance should cover it under your comprehensive/theft and vandalism coverage, unless your deductible is too high to warrant filing a claim (for all intents and purposes the AP is basically a "PDA" ). If your car insurance won't cover it (or isn't worth it), try filing under your homeowners or renters policy. Mine covers my belongings that are stolen out of my car or anyone else's.
I can't imagine this has never happened before. Several months ago I foolishly left my car unlocked overnight accidentally and some punk kids in the neighborhood stole my iPod. My AccessPort was just inches away in a little hidden compartment/cell phone holder I have installed in the door of my center armrest. Thankfully it wasn't seen, but after that I started keeping my AP in the house. Hindsight is 20/20, though. Sorry for your loss and I hope the good folks at Cobb will be able to help you out.

I would do what themyst said...write down the serial number. Cobb has great customer service, and im sure that they will help you out. I keep my Cobb in the Trunk only because if my car were to ever break down and i need to take it to the dealer immediately i can detune it
