I have just forced this thread on my wife with liberal use of the words "promised land" with regard to your garage and project. Jealous does not describe. Watch yer back...

Ryan and I fucked up when we installed the cams and bent the intake valves in cyl 1 and 6 the last 2 nights the car has gone from ready to run, to completely torn down with the head ready to come back off so I can install new valves that MaxPsi is shipping down to me right now. then I need to dig out the copper orings, install new ones, clean up the MLS gasket and reinstall it all. thanks for the parts Wes, got them yesterday. And thank god Ryan dropped off his SnapOn socket or I'd have never gotten the arp studs off......little bastards are SERIOUSLY strong.

Bent valves suck.
Getting that beast on the road should be worth all the time and aggravation though. It's a good thing it's not deer mating season now... |

There have been more Bigfoot and Lochness Monster sightings than Sniz's car.

Ok guys,
went back to Adams today, fixed a coolant leak from a loose clamp then filled up and rebled the system. Seems to be working great now. I also replaced all the clear vinyl (non automotive) hoses that I test fitted the ICV with proper automotive hosing and clamps........car idles much better and is hitting 11.8-12.1 at WOT at 8psi. Its raining here so it was dangerous even testing that.....a high boost test will have to wait. its working great it seems, very happy about this I really appreciate everyone here's help, without the support of my local BMW CCA guys, bimmerforums F/I crew, Mike Radowski and George....etc, I wouldnt have gotten this done. It was a hell of a learning experience for me and I'm very glad I did the work myself. It turned into 2 head gasket jobs but thats ok, the 2nd time around was a breeze. The car ready to leave the garage for the 1st full day out New stealth intercooler install Bleeding the cooling system....what a mess, well designed BMW....... and where my car lived for the past 5 months! So happy to see it off the lift

just keeping this thread updated. Scott its meth install time!!!!!!
=================== Back on the road for a 120 mile 97 degree and high humidity torture test today before I go on a 4 1/2 hr one way trip this weekend to West Virginia w my girlfriend. Car worked flawless other than a little stumble at traffic lights when it got really hot out. Thinking I have a small vacuum leak. Will pressure test tomorrow. I could certainly feel timing being pulled when it was super hot. I wanted to test the cooling system......so I had the windows up, A/C on full blast creepin in traffic w super hot ambient temps. Water temp creeped up to 220 degrees and stayed there. My eyes were on the gauge like a hawk the whole drive. Worked great. In normal conditions the car normally stays at 190-200. Out showing houses and decided to snap a few shots. Liked these 2
