Hi guys, does anyone know how to determine if a CIC unit has DAB in it ?

Is there an extra connection at the rear of the unit for example ?

Dab receiver is included in the CIC.

If you need help "unlocking it" I would speak with Patryk at bimmertech.

Hi thanks for the reply, I know the Dab is in the CIC but want to know how you can tell from the connections on the back of the CIC if it has DAB or not.

DAB has i think tho extra connectors in the rear,one is green. Its quite rare.

The dab signals comes into the CIC using the regular radio antenna connection. No extra connection.

The problem you will likely have though is in the uk the dab antenna is in the back windscreen. The antenna diversity is also changed for dab with a special part. Dab in other parts of Europe also uses the sharkfin.

Dab is a relatively complicated retrofit if the car doesn't have the antennas already in the car.

Guys, as Alpina said, unit with the DAB has green and mustar colour connectors at the back.

You will need to change the diversity antenna to have one with the DAB (again mustard colour connector) socket to keep it all oem.

Otherwise you can use after market DAB aerial (funny shapes).

Hi guys, ive ordered a DAB head unit and diversity amplifier for my e90 335d. It currently has the professional sat nav but no DAB. I also have the COMBOX which i will also install. Can someone help with what else i might need and potentially help with coding.

for DAB head unit - do i need to install the DAB diversity amplifier and then run a cable to the back of the head unit.

COMBOX - wiring from mulf + tcu into 26 pin connector and a MOST terminator loop for spare fibre cables.

There is lots of info about the wiring from mulf + tcu to 26 pin COMBOX connector but if anyone can send a simple version i would be very greatful and any help with the head unit with be amazing.
