DHL won't collect unless you have an account,as is the same for most, you could use Parcel Force, you will need to take it into a Post or Sorting office.

If you use www.parcel2go.com you can use DHL to collect from your door.

Bear in mind though that they give a collection time of between 8am and 5pm so you could have to wait in all day. Cheaper than Parcelforce though.

I tried parcel2go (on Will's advice) but because the tyres I was sending were going to N.Ireland the price ramped up. Took them to the Post Office and they sorted it all out for me and was pleasantly surprised by the cost.

Nothing against parcel2go but don't necessarily overlook the trusty old Post Office (if of course you can still find one that hasn't been shut down!!!).

Plus Post Offices need a little help from us as they're having a hard time of it (for some reason I'm feeling nostalgic!!!) - I've seen the owner of parcel2go's house and he doesn't need any more business

I use interparcel.com and you can choose which service you use-tnt, dhl, ups etc and if you need a timed service.

As said though as soon as you go non uk mainland the price hikes up.

Best for smaller packages upto 30kgs though.
