335i cross country reliability
Ok so I have had my 2007 335i for 2 months and I love it to death! It has 33k on the clock and im going on 3500 mile road trip.. I'm very nervous as idk how this beast will take it.. I've driven 500 miles at most back and forth and it was a breeze. I'm going to get an oil change as well as other maintenance, tires etc. Am I safe on doing this? And if there is any additional maitenance/precautions I should take let me know please! TIA!!

Ha you'll be fine don't even sweat it. I went from Wisconsin. To Florida. To Texas. Back to Wisconsin. Didn't have any problems. Did a oil change after and a nice detail. Bug cemetery on my bumper and mirrors lol...

3500 mile trip = 3 HPFPs and 1 coil. Have those ready and you'll be allset. I would recommend grabbing a set of turbos, but it would be a bitch to replace on a side of the road

I doubt the engine would hold up that long, my recommendation is make arrangements with a BMW dealership at a half way point to do a engine swap, should cost only 15,000 from what I hear.

Most of these responses have been made in jest.

A 33k miles car is pretty much a new car, and if you are concerned about taking it on a road trip, you should get a civic instead. Btw, civics break down, too... |

As everyone says, no problem.
But a quick look over wouldn't hurt. Check: all fluid levels, tyres, lights, etc. If the car uses oil take a quart with you. Money to pay the speeding tickets (just joking). Have fun. |

I've taken a 07 335xi and a 10 335i on 3 different 1k+ trips. I wasn't worried in the slightest bit. Even did a few pulls

You got to be kidding!. In 79' I took a 77 Camero with 70K from Jax Fl to San Diego in 48 hrs, then across Death Valley to Flint MI. 3 days later, then back to FL with no problems at all. That was 35 yrs ago! One big triangle! What makes you think that BMW reliability is so bad? Cars have progressed somewhat since then. Just change your oil and top off the fluids if your worried about anything.
Oh! by the way. You may need an Italian tune-up about half way, that means - floor it for about 5 miles to clean the carbon out! Report back after your trip.

Blow out some carbon on on those lonely straight highways and your car will be in better condition once your trip is done than it was when you started. BTW, time to update your profile with your new car info.

Lol mr mormon? And I'm being called 15 ..why don't you bring your old ass over here to LA and this "15 year old" can show you a few tricks. Now before you say anything else..I want you to sit down, think about what you said for a long moment, slap yourself a few times, and get off the computer for a while.
