radar
I have an old Escort Passport 8500 and recently started getting a LOT of false alarms. I've come to the conclusion it's due to other car's lane departure radar. It started probably a couple years ago, where if I was following a car with that feature for any amount of time, my radar detector would go off every few seconds. Recently in the past few months it started happening literally every day at least once as more and more new cars are equipped with this technology.
Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening? A new radar detector with a better threshold for filtering out the false alarms? Some way to jam the other car's radar? (kidding, sorta, if people would pay attention they wouldn't even need that crap). |

Most new radars that are worth anything (Escort, V1, etc.) have the ability to filter out that exact problem, my old radar would go off randomly, and i'd start looking for the closest Audi on the highway, sure enough there was always one near me.
