Auto detailing shop in Chicago

Hi All,

I need your recommendations for a detailing shop in Chicago. The weather is getting warmer and I thought it's the right time get my car detailed (clay, polish, wax etc.) Normally I take my car to Simon's for wash but I don't think they would do a good job with detailing. Any suggestions.

Thanks,

Ucan

I'd like to find out as well... Normally, I do it myself.. but I'm getting lazy and never seem to have the time either.. so a good suggestion for the city and north burbs would be nice.

I took one of my cars to a place just down the street from our shop, but I can't remember the name of it now.. Great job and it wasn't too crazy expensive.. I'll post it up tomorrow when I drive by there.. It's on the corner of Elmhurst and Algonquin Rd in Arlington Heights.

I need to drop my car off there tomorrow.. it needs it badly.

If you're looking for a place in the city, this place is good and has a full exterior detail package.

Simon Shine Shop is the one that I normally take my car to wash. Again, I do not think they will do a good job for detailing though. First they are used to in & out quick washing service and I don't believe they will put the required time and effort for detailing. Second, although they carry Zymol, PS2 etc. for retail, I believe they will use generic polishes waxes for detailing (i.e., they use a non-brand car shampoo to wash the cars - not a well-known brand that they carry)

Thanks for the suggestion though.

I spoke to the owner when I went there, they do use Zymol, PS2, etc, you actually get to choose. Either way, I'd support the local guys who do it on the side (or professionally) instead of a shop.

since I know a bunch of you asked for pics of what I had done in the past, I realized my old links on my old server didn't work any more...

On top of that, I got married last year, swapped computers and lost some of them...

I uploaded some of the details that I found here: http://picasaweb.google.com/detailingbyryan

I apologize for the delay, I just set up this picasa gallery tonight and will continue to use this to update in the future, since it is available online...

Update

I got my car exterior-detailed at Simon's. They did a great job. All the swirl marks, tiny scratches were gone and the paint shines even better than the first day I picked up the car.

I would prefer Ryan but I was in a hurry and could not wait to get his response back to my questions.
