Hi everyone I have uploaded this video to show people what the 80w bulbs are like as there isn't much coverage on them.

no issues at all. Still not great in bright daylight on the outside ring but I don't think a bulb can ever conquer that problem.

Have you got a link to where you bought them?

They no longer sell them by the looks of it. Type in on eBay 80w Cree led h8 and there should be some from other sellers.

Should put them up on the classified section. I'm sure they would sell in no time.

hmmmmm
It gets to a point where the inner ring is so stupidly bright that there is no definition and it just looks like a messy hue. There is no more light going to the outer ring so, wattage and numbers become a marketing ploy

I think the 60watt equivalents look a little nicer as the inner ring is more visible from a distance.

Someone needs to design an LED Unit which consists of 3 LEDs
1 LED which sits at the very end of the unit pointing outwards towards the inner angel eye. This can be a lesser powerful LED than the other 2 LEDs which shoot sideways into the two light bars which light the outer ring.

Only then will you be able to get two rings which are evenly bright.

They may not still be visible during the day, but a retrofit is needed to accomplish that.

Retrofit is very costly though and these are an improvement On halogen. I think it's the camera that makes it look like a blur. But yes the outside looks dim no matter what you do sadly.

If I had money to burn id certainly be buying some retrofit lights from josh.

Any comparison against josh's lights would be unfair. But the price for me atm is too far out of reach for me.

Maybe one day soon though josh.

That's it the retrofit is the best option if you can spare the money. I know I would have some just too much money.

I'm inclined to agree with you mate. TBH I think even the standard new BMW ones look the same.

When i first got my car, some LED bulbs were one of the first things I did (although I subsequently removed them and put the standard bulbs back in).

But the more I'm leaving it, the more i think I actually prefer the yellow look of the standard bulbs, as you get the nice contrast between the HID beam and the angels, rather than a full on barrage of retina melting brightness.

It is a lot of money mate! I definitely know that and in most cases most mods approaching that sort of money is one you could possibly live without.

But there is such a vast improvement on light out-put, crisp performance, and with the ability to alter the light internals at the same time, you can immediately facelift and transform the entire front end of a Pre LCI with such a straight forward mod which will have you looking for your cars reflection at every moment

I actually agree. The few E92s i see with White H8 LED drop ins look terrible and really cheapen the front end as the light is further diminished over stock...all imo.
The oem yellow Angels look fairly good for a stock look and you are right about the contrast!

Hah!!

Even the new LCI Lights are not great.
From a distance of 50yards or more... All you see is a bright hue of light rather than crisp angel eyes.
And they are still not completely visible from all angles

To be honest it's the same with quite a few manufacturers.

It's like because of the DRL regulations, all manufacturers have taken it upon themselves to source the brightest lights/LEDs going.

BMW, Porsche, Peugeot, Citroen, etc. Hell, the new Jags even have to dim the DRLs when indicating because you can hardly see the indicator otherwise!

Just because they can make DRLs that bright, doesn't mean they should, IMO. You don't need DRLs to be brighter than the main beams.

Personally, I think DRL's are stupid. If you can't see a car in broad daylight, without 2 gazzlion watt DRLs blazing away, then you shouldn't be out by yourself ....but that's another story.
