E90 330i automatic 6speed 1/4 mile
Being curious what my car would do on the 1/4 mile, I decided to hit the drag strip, this was pretty much my first time, so first run was kind of stressed....
330i E90 automatic 6 speed k&n drop in Best 1/4 best 60ft with passanger, I've actually lowered tire pressure before this run, not bad 14.5 with a passanger So in summary the car performed as expected, meaning kind of slow from a start, but once it passes the 1/8 mile it does pretty good (see difference between 1/8 versus between 1/8 and the 1/4 on the first pic). I wont lie saying I would of wished to be closer to 14's flat, however I'll get a tune under shortly and hoping to improve the starts as well, although a 2.2 is quite ok for an auto. |

Thanks, I'll update the thread once I'll return after getting a tune.
I don't see many 330i times being posted so trying to sadisfy some curious people as I once was before going to the track. |

sorry forgot about this thread and the email notifications not working great...
no updates, after this winter getting new coils/spark plugs and a tune (not sure yet which one, didn't get one yet as I'm hoping for the miracle where a company would able to extract more than 10hp... but I'll guess it wont happen, so might as well get one, the openflash tablet concept is pretty cool) as for the car performance in general, the 14.4 doesn't do it justice from a highway roll, this car has surprised me (especially since it feels slow below 60mph) many times last summer Won against from a 60mph roll: - modded g35 - new genesis 2.0t - modded rsx-s (mentioning as they can be nasty with i/h/e & tune) - cts-4 (300hp version) - and another good bunch of cars that were supposed to be slower in any case so not mentioning it) Close races that I've lost: - lexus 350 (had an exhaust, but pretty sure that was it) - what looked/sounded like a heavily modded 350z - stock auto ~2008 335i (I cheated a little bit, I hit the accelerator like a few milliseconds before he did, as with his torque on the rolling start he would have jumped me instantly of 1 car.) Btw., when I say they were close races I mean from 60mph we're neck to neck untill ~95mph where my auto shifts in 4th and at that moment they all start pulling until I get around 110mph, however at that point it's too late as they already have the momentum. I really do hate it when it happens, cause you're all excited like "cool I'm right next to this car that's supposed to be faster" and than my auto shifts in 4th and I'm like "ah crap, it is faster than my car haha" Was neck to neck with a (hoping for the guy) stock srt4, mazdaspeed older gen (not stock), 300c (it was the v8, I was expecting it to be faster) Also got destroyed by quite a few cars, modded 335i, camaro ss, etc... I know some will call BS on the above, however keep in mind, those are not all new cars, so maintenance of the car, driver, etc... have a good impact on the race Last edited by bimmerquick43321; 12-15-2013 at 12:24 PM.. |
