performance air filter recommendations please?

i want to change my air filter to increase performance and also add to engine note,,,any advice or recommendations would be nice

Holy crap, $1,000?! Nice to have OEM but...

Berger Motor Sports Dual Cone intake can be had for around $100-150.

If you want better you can get AFE Dual Cone with heat shield. That's around $400.

Just get afe panel filter and cyba air scoop. Cheap but works well.

Make your own for less than $50. No need to spend a crazy amount of money for something you can make yourself.

I feel like the intake is an area where BMW owners are taken advantage of. Just because it is a luxury car doesnt mean that you need to pay out the a** for a filter. Just my $.02

My recommendation - check out the private seller section of this forum. I picked up an afe stage 2 intake in December for under $200 bucks

+1 a stock engine is not taxing a stock air cleaner. If you want a "performance sound" get the BMS system for $100.
