BOOTLID Light In centre console?????

Hi I have this bootlid light that shows the bootlid is opn in my BMW e91.

The rear wiper or the glass part of the rear trunk do not work. This is because the car thinks the boot/trunk is open. At the back, just above each hinge is a type of plastic thin strip that is broken.

Does anyone know what part needs replacing. Do i need to replace the Hinge for the trunk lid, is it the Trunk lid sealing. Is it another part, Any help?

How old is your car?

Mine went and was repalced under warranty.

I think it's quite common due to the weight of the tailgate.
