Black ground lead connector - Fuel Pump - N51 Engine

In a process of replacing fuel pump on my sons 2007 E92 coupe, N51 engine, I noticed there was a black (what looks like ground) wire with snap-in type of connector at the end of the wire just hanging loose. Does anyone know or can suggest what is this wire supposed to connect to? Please see attached image. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
