Jet Black Swirl Marks

Has anyone found a god product to use on Jet Black to remove or hide light swirl marks without buffing the car.

A corrective detail will get rid of the ones you have. Hand washing with Optimum No Rinse will keep them from coming back.

Black cars are the devil, yet I keep buying them..... Welcome to the world of Jet Black!

Ever since I drive a JB colored car, I actually pay attention to what type of cloth I'm using to wipe the car. Good practice I guess, but damn...

A black car is the hardest color to keep up with and isn't for everyone but the rewards are; a beautiful car!

Agreed. A clean black car can become glass. I love the look. I have black sapphire so I empathize with you all.

My guy charges $90 for a detail but I got the polish done for another $90 to remove the initial swirl marks when I bought the car.

In the spring I get a detail, $90, and clay bar (removes salt and grime from winter), $20, and in the fall I get a detail. For $200 a year I am very happy. I hand wash at least once a month with a quick detailer after drying and I go to a touchless car wash in between hand washes.

Y'all's detailers are cheap! I paid $250 for a full corrective detail in March. Then again, my paint was in horrible shape courtesy of my car's previous owner. Swirls, buffer trails, holograms and some surface scratches on the bumper. He had it looking brand new again (9 hours later, lol). Money well spent, IMO.

I hand wash my car weekly with Optimum No Rinse and never ever use drive through car washes. I am very picky about my paint on all of my cars, and probably spend way too much time keeping it clean and swirl-free. I just got a full respray on the entire car so I'll be even more picky now that it's pristine. I am thinking about wrapping the car so I don't have to worry about swirls anymore...

I don't have the time to hand wash my car once a week, I get to OCD. And I will never take my car to a touch car wash, especially since it's black.

My detailer is top notch. I recommend him to everyone I know in the Pittsburgh area, PM if you are. The guy is a professional detailer and has his own van and details vehicles and boats all day, er'ry day.

Got it as part of an insurance claim (hail damage, all body panels except for the bumpers & rear quarters replaced). I'll have to check the paperwork to see how much it would have cost. I imagine.....quite a bit.

Wish I could find a great detailer in the NJ area. I think Addicted shot me one long ago but I forget what I did with it. I'm sure I could use a good detail before fall sets in.

A dual action polisher, buffing pads, and compound are less than a lot of details.

I have a griots polisher. It's time consuming but actually fun to correct your own paint.

I love optimum no-rinse too...
