Auditions for that commercial probably went like this. "Do you like cars?" "No" "wanna be in a commercial?" "Yes"

I don't believe it either. They say it's a FG but it seems staged. "How much do you think it costs?" $60K?! Plus I've seen what kind of people go to these FG groups. Sometimes you think they're homeless. These people are dressed nicer than what I've typically seen at a real FG.

Maybe they should have said, "feels like a Chrysler".

Any car person with a shred of car knowledge would be able to tell its a Chevy the second they laid eyes on the dash.

It's a Chevy commercial....surely you can't put much stock into it.
Chevys take a shit, much like many of our cars, so I guess that's what they mean by feeling like you're in a BMW! So long as the kids have a consistent wifi connection, apparently that's all Chevy thinks its customer base gives a shit about. |

I dont understand these kinds of commercials
You have a good car that is offered at a very competitive price, why dont you just advertise it for its features and value ?

If you can't tell it's a Chevy from the front, you're a flippin idiot.
I would give them the benefit of the doubt however, if they only looked at the rear. Looks way too much like a Kia or Hyundai rear end. |

UPDATE: After this article’s publication, GM got back in touch with us with the following response:
Because we are calling this campaign, “Real People, Not Actors,” we were very diligent in our recruiting process and asked participants if they were actors at two separate points. Once when they were initially recruited and again when they arrived for the focus group. The participants were recruited in the L.A. area, which increased the chance that participants had acting experience. We had each participant or their guardian sign a document that they were not currently a member of the Screen Actors Guild. To recruit participants, we followed the same process that lots of marketing firms use to recruit for focus groups. Their responses were never scripted and they were never told that Chevrolet was the client. They were not told that their focus group would be used in a commercial until after the final cut was made. I’m going to check, but I’m pretty sure her being an actress is a coincidence. We did the shoot in the LA area and recruited like we would for a typical focus group. Chances are likely that we’d get a few aspiring actors in the mix there.
