Gary, question about remaining tread...

I'm about to replace a tire under warranty and reading the warranty it sais the tire must have more than 3/32nd of tread remaining...
.. isnt 3/32nd of tread remaining almost a bald tire?

my question is...since say 10/32 tread remaining (10 divided by 32= .3125) is a larger number than 3/32 (3 divided by 32=.0937) does that mean that the tire that meaures 10/32 has much more tread?

Thanks.

not sure, but at least as long as your tire doesn't go below 3/32nd, you can get it replaced...but is it only you can get it replaced when you have puncture? (I think I have a similar tire/wheel warranty as you do)

I have "The Auto Club" warranty who were recently aquired by Paragon Motor club.... yes only when damage to the tire... they'll cover 25 bucks for the repair and if it cant be repaired (such as my case with a sidewall bubble)

bump to the top ....still trying to get an answer to my question.

Yes. A tire with 10/32nd of tread is about three times as deep than one with 3/32nds of tread depth. A tire is considered legally okay until it gets below 2/32nds of depth. Most tires look bald around that depth as well.
