any1 tried using CLR home cleaning product to get the black soot off the chrome tip? I might try it next time I washed the car.

0000 steel wool with wheel cleaner. Follow up with metal polish then apply wheel sealant to make your life easier.

I recently did it with Turtle Wax Chrome polish and worked pretty well.

Wow, this question gets asked a lot! #0000 plus Mother's Chrome Polish. Alternatively, Nevr-dull wadding polish. Both work well.
