ET for 18" winter wheels

Hi everybody, so I have finally signed up as a member after a lot of lurking on this great forum!

My baby E92 will get new winter tires in dimension 225/40-18.

I will buy M5 replicas with width 8". There are three ET's available: 20 / 30 / 40, what ET should I use in front and rear to make it look good?

Thanks guys!

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

one guy had 8x18 M6 reps with et34 in the front and et20 in the back in his e90. No spacers, but totally different rims in the front and in the back. That looked pretty good, but there might be some rubbing in the back..

In your case, maybe et30 on all four corners? (check that from someone, that actually knows something.. )

Here is a link to the e90 with M6 reps.

Welcome

First forget about ET40. Then go with ET30 in the front.
I've seen e90/e91 with ET20 18x8 wheels in the rear, but the problem is that the e92 has less room in the rear, so I think the safe thing is to go with ET30 in the rear too.

To play it safe ET30 sounds right!

go with 30 all around unless you want a super narrow track

we do have some people running a 38mm offset on their snow setup for a narrower track.

I would say the 30 would look best

I wouldn't suggest staggering the offsets as that makes it a setup that cannot be rotated.

i just got the 18x8 m6 rep et 38... i also order some 12mm spacer for the back becasue they are tucked it way too much... i can barely see the rear wheel when i am looking at the car from the front at a slight angle.

so 30 all around. probably wont need spacers either.

Hi again guys!

Unfortunately my supplier has only 18" M5 replicas with width 8" and ET35 available. I want my car to look good, should i go for these rims and maybe add spacers?

All advises are very much appreciated!

Mine are 18x8,5 et35 all around. From the back they could come a bit further, but I'm not complaining. You be the judge:

And this is my winter set btw

Hi avop, congratulations to your new car, it's sooo beautiful!

I see that you are running have 8,5" width on your wheels, I will use 8" and it will make my rear look less good. I think I need spacers in the back, should i go for 10 mm?

Hi again,

I tried the offset calculator and got this answer: "17mm MORE clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT 9mm"

My interpretation is that 10mm spacers in the back would be perfect.

What do you think guys?

Thanks

et 35 with a mild 8-10mm spacers on the rear would be perfect IMO. I personally don't like when people put 15mm spacers.. it makes the tires stick out too much. I know many others will feel a bit differently

8 inch width is better than 8,5. I just made a mistake, that's all. Hope this helps.
