Painting front license plate backing

Has anyone done this??
I had to get my front bumper drilled last weekend so they could mount the plate and black plastic like backing... I want to paint the back to match my car's color... I've searched the threads and can't find anything...

has anyone ever done this?
I called the dealer and was told they don't sell cans of paint (just small viles for touch-ups) ... Does any one sell OEM Paint cans/sprays?

Go to another dealer. BMW does sell cans of spray paint. I got my kit that came with one can of Monaco Blue and one can of Clearcoat.

I've called all of the dealers in my area and was told BMW can't ship aerosol cans into the US!!!

So which dealership did you go to?? I might try to order from them.

BMW of Seattle gave me the name of a local chain (Wesco Autobody) that will mix paint to match my car's color.. I will keep you posted!

I got mine here in England and I know you can't mail it. I wonder how Rustoleum paint cans get moved about in the U.S., though.

Any chance you have got this thing painted yet? How well did the paint match and are you please with the result?
If you have any pics, I am sure there are many of us who wouldn't mind seeing them.

Thanks

Rather than start a new thread this is why I search.

I think I'm going to have mine painted this week.
