Software update E89X-13-03-504 and a scratch.. :-(

Went to the dealer with SIB 12-09-12 in hand for low speed intermittent loss of power. I have the PPK installed with previous integration version E89X-12-03-502. Left the dealer with a 1in long scratch on the door and a gutless E90. They upgraded the software to E89X-13-03-504. Final report shows ISTA/P version 49.4. The car seems to have lost a bit of power. Does anyone have any insite as to what this software version has done to the DME? I have an appointment at the dealer again to have the car door resprayed at an indepentant bodyshop. What can I mention to them about the car's lack of performance? Is it possible that the PPK did not make it back in the DME?

What dealer in Chicago did you go to? Be nice to know if I have to bring mine in. Sorry I can't help you with software.

Car lost adaptations. Drive it like you own it and wait for it to come back to life.

Brought the car to Bill Jacobs in Naperville. They seem really nice there are were willing to take care of the scratch. I hope you guys are right about the software because the car feels gutless after the upadate. I keep asking for some kind of paperwork/printout showing that the PPK is actually installed in the car but they say it cant be done?

Can't you have it reinstalled? They should have given you a red envelope with the details.

Update was done under warrenty since I had a SIB.
As far as the PPK is concerned, they state your VIN is registered in the system and all updates are downloaded with PPK. however, everytime I ask for a printout they say their system cant print out anything but a final report. The report has no mention of PPK programming.

Borrow a boost gauge. The stock boost is about 8-9 psi and PPK should be higher.

Does anyone know if the PPK option is reflected in the VO? If so, what is the option code? And how do you read the firmware version on the DME? I assume the PPK has its own firmware versions.

Hey, sorry for the but our admins won't give me PM back so here I am. The guy who ended up getting the Sport flash liked it, but ultimately was back in a few weeks to get the Alpina flash again. So do you're self a favor and just get the Alpina flash. Let me know if you need help.

You can text me at 503-679-3538... If you have a newer car with MSD81 you should be on assembly number 7626438 for the PPK. You should be able to read the UIF history. I had a dealership tell me they needed to flash my MSD80 as part of their diagnostic steps only to find out they didn't actually do the flash, but nicely wiped out some of my custom coding for comfort access. Wasn't an issue. Only takes me a few minutes to go back and recode the modules.

As for the transmission, 7615835 is the assembly number for the Alpina flash on module GKE215.

I actually had the base PROcede flash on my car and it was causing low boost codes after I had the turbos replace. I didn't put the PROcede back in because I'm doing some flash testing so I ended up just flashing my MSD80 back to stock myself. Funny part is the flash only takes a few minutes and it fixed the low boost issue, but at the dealership they say it takes more than an hour. WTF? I also have an MSD81 sitting on the shelf waiting for swap out as I plan on testing both MSD80 and MSD81 Alpina DME assembly numbers to see which one works well with our AT 335's... So move over PPK lovers, Alpina flash should blow your socks off performance wise.

You should have gotten a service receipt with the PPK info an installation details for your car (VIN) also you should have three stickers under the hood. One at the underside if the hood, one BMW PPK plate and stickers under your engine cover. Not to mention your Red envelope with documentation of your utilize FSC code.

It should also be register with your dealer under service history

PPK + Alpina Flash ... Both are not the same and Alpina focuses on the TCU or are you referring to full Alpina flash of the ECU?

OP, any updates? Does the car still feel gutless or did the adaptions kick in? Did you go back to the dealer?
