Love:
-Everything in terms of performance and looks.
-Especially the ability of a good tune turning the N54 into a complete monster

Hate:
-No LSD
-CCC iDrive (nothing a CIC retrofit can't fix)
-Damn Run-flat tires, which is apparently a good excuse for no spare!!

I must say the pure driving pleasure of the sport package 335i by far outweighs its inconveniences.

Regarding my E60 530i sedan

Love: The handling and steering feel matched with the adaptive steering and dynamic drive. Individual styling (IMO). Simple yet functional classy interior layout packed with gadgetry that keeps you occupied when on the move. The finesse and class of the BMW craftsmanship inside. Plenty of power when you need it ( I don't see why you would need an M5).

Hate: Heavy steering. Pre-lci BMW Navigation system which is almost useless and dated. BMW Service bills. Runflat tyres.
Fuel consumption at 17.0 litres/100km City driving

This guy. pfft.... Are you trying to bait me? As you can see having driven my dad's 530i several times I thought it would be fine to give my overall view of the car from the positives and the negatives.

Have you ever driven a 530i Shane? If not, well then I don't know why you would even quote my overview of the car. Having nearly bought the 545i when it first came out I can attest to how much power it had and I found it to be too much for daily city driving, so why need the E60 M5 with the V10 engine in it. Sounds ridiculous really a V10 engine that does daily city duties??? Where do you use the power? Tell me where you could explore and experiment with the M-Mode?

Even the salesman from BMW said personally he wouldn't go for the E60 M5 based on the above and I'm glad my dad didn't purchase a 545i because the amount of depreciation that has hit that model is hilarious compared to the favourite of the pack the ''530i''.

I guess if I wanted to make the 530i faster I would look at getting a tune lol

Yup I've driven a 530/545 and shook hands on buying a 550 but the seller pulled out from the sale.

The 550 had a nice creamy amount of torque, but it wasn't what i call fast...

Horses for courses always applies, but M5's are fkn tuff and have you ever heard one at full noise?

Most of us on here are enthusiasts who don't care about mpg when you can have that wail of a V10 howling at you!

Yes the 5 series is a heavy car, but you have to take into account it is a luxury saloon and not a lightweight performance car and hands down IMO the ultimate luxury saloon in comparison the XF, E-Class, Audi A6 you name it. Father drove them all and none of them came close to the driving dynamics and sheer class of the 5'er.

M5's are serious performance cars and the soundtrack is evidence of that, however there really isn't anywhere you could ring the neck off an M5 to show it's full potential. The V10 engine really isn't a match made in heaven with our roads here it's more suited for other countries. I've heard one at full noise! What a joy it was to listen to.

BACK ON E90, E92 AND E93 TOPIC SORRY SHANE.

Yours?

Please tell me more about how you have to personally pay for all the expenses on your three cars, I need to know what the long term maintenance costs are before I keep my car longer.

I hate the runflats. I also hate that some options are absurd when they are available on a Ford Mondeo as standard
