Still no updated BMW cable for USB charging??

Newer (now 2 yrs old) iPods and iPhones charge via USB, vs Firewire (older iPod models. 6FL Y-cable that came with my 2009 E90 will not charge via USB. Heard a while back about a new cable coming out, or software update to address this, but nothing definitive as of yet.

Anyone hear anything else?
