Turbo waste gate rattle

Is there module available to fix the waste gate rattle similar to the offering built in into JB4?
Thank you.

If I am understanding this issue correctly, I think you are referring to the rattling noise when you start up the car?
I have the same problem in my 2009 335i too. I was told that it's normal but if that's not the case, I would love to hear about it and also how to fix it.

mine is not only when you start the car. the best way to determine if you have waste gate rattle is after you accelerate you let go of the gas and you will hear metallic flapping. that is a waste gate rattle.

Mine does it as well when the car is cold and the wastegate still open. When the wastegate close (after like what 45s-1min) no more rattle. As it was said here the only rattle to worry about is if you can hear it when revving the engine ! If not dont worry about it !

I believe this topic is in the wrong thread, however I do have the same problem and it's so annoying. But like you guys, I hear it's not that big of a deal..

I've heard that installing the JB4 can fix the rattle too, do you know how that works though?

you have to buy jb4 install and one setting addresses the waste gate rattle.
it might fix it but no guarantee. that trial will run you around $500.00

i know. for sure.
it seems the mine is from the front turbo so none of the "fixes" can help. not sure if anyone is aware of any way to fix the front but it is pretty much un-accessible.

This week i took my car to BMW (still CPO'ed for another 7k miles) and told them I was getting a strange noise when i let off the pedal. I acted like i had no idea what it was, and they actually came back and said it was the wastegate and they would fix it. Well, after ordering and installing new actuators, the sound didn't go away. My SA called BMW and they authorized TWO new turbos for my car. Currently being installed....

how many miles do you have? I know an SIB came out a little while ago that extended turbo warranty to 82k miles to cover this. a copy of it is on the forum if you search for it
