Newbie - E92 320d M Sport

Hi all, just thought I'd say hello, as this is my first post here.

I've just taken delivery of a 320d M Sport LCI. Please excuse the quality of the photos as they were taken on my Blackberry, I will take some better pictures when I get the chance.

I thought the standard specification was pretty good so only opted for met paint, bamboo wood and folding mirrors as everything else I wanted was already standard IMO. The vehicle is leased also so options would have added considerably to the monthly repayments.

In terms of modifications, I would like to fit some BMW Performance black grilles to the front and change the number plates to include some backing plates. I hate the screws on the number plates at the moment. Also, looking at the sidelight bulbs they're orange, presumably I can obtain some silver ones to minimize that "fried egg" look that's going on at the moment?

What's the best price you've got for the BMW Performance grilles for?

What do you think of carbon fibre look letters on number plates?

Also, I suspect that to remap this model the ECU would have to come out. Has anyone mapped their 320d 184 BHP yet?

In terms of a little bit of background, I own a vehicle transportation business in Birmingham and we transport cars all over the country. I am also a member of a few internet forums and would love to actively participate here too.

Kind regards

mc_blue

BMW Performance Grills and Stick On Number Plate Fitted

Have fitted black BMW Performance Grilles and a stick on number plate for 'show' purposes.

What do you think? I think the front looks a lot better now. Those idiots at Lombard had drilled the bumper to affix the number plates. Is this usual practice? I would have imagined a plate holder or 3M tape as opposed to drilling the bumper itself!

Next modifications include new tax disc holder and possibly CF mirror covers.

Yes I decided against them. The front plate although stuck on is exactly the same in terms of font and letter size as the original one.

I got the grilles from BMW Sutton Coldfield.

Very nice! Folding mirrors are great for when driving car into and out of garage, unless you have a chuffing great garage that is!

Hi, I said 'show' plate as a tongue-in-cheek remark. The numberplate is strictly speaking not legal as it is a stick on but I think it cleans up the front considerably.

We provide vehicle transportation and recovery services nationwide so if you need anything moving I will look after you on the price that's for sure!

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys.

Have you thought about getting the BMW performance silencer system?
