335 E92 cold engine exhaust distribution

I've noticed on cooler mornings the exhaust is only exiting from the passenger side pipe. When I placed my hand over the other outlet there was zero air movement. Same again when I check after driving.

Is this normal? Is there a way to test this while driving?

That is how it always is. The exhaust flap is closed at idle. It opens above 3k rpms.

The "golf tee" mod would open the flap constantly. It makes it sound better too

Yep. I unplugged the flap in my truck area and haven't looked back. Makes the car sound much better.

one side stays closed below 3000RPM to create backpressure for low RPM driving. I wouldnt mess with something thats clearly on your car for a reason.

The performance exhaust doesn't have a flap at all so.... It must not be that important.

because BMW assumes that those buying the PE wont be spending too much time below 3000rpm.

if you do, then you might want to keep the flap operational.

You can spew shit in other sections but GTFO of the N55 section. You have no clue what you are talking about. The exhaust flap is 100% to reduce exhaust noise and that is it.
