REAL 2011 335i 0 to 60 time?
We all know that BMW likes to underestimate their performance numbers. Like the previous N54 engine 335i 0 to 60 was really around 4.9 instead of the manufacturer quoted 5.3.
Now for the new 2011 the quoted 0 to 60 time is yet again 5.3 for manual coupe. Does anyone know the "real" time of the new 2011 335i? I realize it may not be as fast as the twin-turbo N54 engine, but is it really 5.3 or is it still faster? Has anyone test driven theirs? (I am patiently waiting on mine ) |

well I went to the track the other day it was in the low 90's and very humid out. Car has about 700 miles and I managed a 13.941@ 99.01mph. I figure with a few more launches I'll be down somewhere in the 13.7 range

According to insideline the 2007 335i did 1/4 mile in 13.3 seconds at 106 mph.
http://www.insideline.com/bmw/3-seri...35i-coupe.html Maybe with some practice you can get it down to 13.3 |

I believe that's with a MT. I have a 6AT. Plus the hot weather isn't helping much. I'd be happy with 13.6

It probably is underrated, but by how much is the question. If anyone is done breaking theirs in and wants to do some 0 to 60 tests for us Although I guess a professional driver would be able to get better results. The 4.8 seconds on the previous model, was most likely done by a pro tester.

Yeah, I am going to have a pretty hard time controlling myself once I get the car. I ordered mine and the anticipation is already killing me.
I'll try to concentrate on other cool features of the car to keep my mind off the gas pedal. |

I don't think there's anything cooler than the gas pedal. I'll keep you up to date to see if anything breaks. 800 miles and over 10 kills since I got her last wednesday. It's going to be a long beautiful bond together...
