Does BMW warranty cover blown speakers?

I have an 07 e90 and the speakers are starting to rattle for me. Does the warranty cover new speakers

I actually just brought my car in for that and my front door speakers went out completely. Turns out the previous owner tried to splice the wires to put in a different amp. They said normally that wouldn't be covered since it had been tampered with but they got it covered for me somehow, service manager said it would have costed 1600 for the new wires and amp installed. Talk about excited since I am broke as hell from buying the car.

I pretty sure If you haven't touched the sound system in the car it will be covered. At least thats the way they made it seem at my dealership.

did you blow them out? if so, why should the dealer cover speakers that you blew out? if not, go back to the party you bought it from.

yes it is covered. At least they were for me. I went in with a blown door speaker, and my service guy told me it may or may not be covered - that he had to do a test. Then he came out 2 mins later and said it was not a problem, because he could tell I was not blasting the radio (how I have no idea). That door speaker has blown 3 times for me now. Personally I think there is a wireing issue.

Not one time they had the part. Last time it happened, I pulled in, told him it happened again, and left since it is not a stocked part in the shop. I go back in 1 week later and have it replaced. So, you might be covered...... I was.

Even if you were blasting the stereo, why would it not be covered? Shouldn't BMW design the stereo system so it doesn't fail if you turn the volume knob up? If you drive the car over 70MPH, does that void the powertrain warranty?

Unless -- as in the above story -- an Evil Previous Owner messed with the wiring (and shouldn't that have been caught by the BMW CPO inspection???) I'd argue if they tied to deny a claim.

i guess i see your point -- i had friends with aftermarket audio equipment, but stock speakers, and those weren't covered when blown. but, if bmw allows you to turn the volume up to 10, then your speakers shouldn't blow at that volume.

I agree with this 100%!! BMW shouldn't put a system in a car that the speakers can't handle. Seeing that we have no Volume For the Deaf (numbers or lines indicating volume level), how would you even know when you're maxed out anyway?!

Pretty rough to be broke after a car purchase. Less expensive car?

Never an option for the $30,000 millionaire.

Sorry if this was offensive, but it's irritating.

The acoustic quality of the OEM BMW system has been discussed before on the forum, and it is debatable. The reliability is a different matter. In a well-designed system, the speakers could perhaps wear out by being used more than expected, but it should not be possible to destroy the speakers by overload. There also should not be any wiring issues if the original wiring harnesses were functional. In case a speaker fails, it should be replaced under warranty.

None taken. I can pay for the car, not a problem, but I'm broke at the time being since I dropped all my spending money I saved for the down payment.

if BMW doesn't cover blown speakers (without any tampering) I see a large class action lawsuit in the works.
