My Car's Death
So I never really told anyone here how it happened, so here it is!
Original thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=782947 I had just gotten BC Racing coilovers installed the night before while E90post member BillLee had his ST V1 coilovers installed. It took ALL NIGHT because EVS Motors (a local Houston shop) fucked up both of our suspension installs in the past and the new shop had to correct them. The next day, Billy and I were driving back to the shop for an alignment. While in the middle lane of the highway, the 1987 Porsche 944 in front of me suddenly came to a near stop. I slammed on my brakes and watched the accident happen as if it were in slow motion - this is what I get for switching to skinny all seasons. The lanes to my left and right were moving faster than we were, so I didn't think it was safe to swerve out of the way. The impact was relatively minor. No airbags went off. Several seconds later, the car behind me slammed into my rear with such force that it set off my front and side airbags and turned the motor off. My glasses flew off but weren't damaged at all. It honestly felt like "no big deal" at the time as I was very calm. After the 2nd impact, I grabbed my phone, and started to pull off to the side. Luckily we were all on a downhill slope so we could still coast to the side. I got out and walked towards the Porsche owner - they were totally fine. In fact, they spent the next 2 hours apologizing to me over and over... apparently a truck had stopped in front of them and sped off, hence causing the accident. BillLee said he was 2 inches from hitting the 3rd car (the one that hit me) before stopping. A police car was nearby and told me "I just saw your rear end explode." For some reason, that police car left and another replaced it to file our reports... The car I hit (pretty much undamaged lol): My car: The car that hit me... the cops didn't give a shit about the tires or anything. It seemed like they were protecting the people that hit me. Her name was Jamesha. She presented an insurance card but apparently never made the payments, so I was hit by an uninsured driver. The police report states that the passenger was the driver. -_- Sorry I don't have pics of her front, but it was fucked up! BillLee might have some shots of her car. In the end I was 50% automatically at fault and was issued a ticket. I do have injuries and am waiting on MRI results, but I was just elated that the airbag didn't hit my face. I've been looking for an E46 M3 to replace Laci, and had my sights locked on one in Florida but it's very expensive (heavily modded) and might be sold to someone else this weekend. For now, I'm not looking to get into another E9X as I wouldn't have any other one besides my Atlantic Blue 328. Thanks for lookin! xD

Uninsured drivers are disgusting people, and the fact she had bald tyres makes her even worse. The owner of the car should have their license taken away and fined heavily.

50% at fault? so wait. you stop and don't hit the porsche, and then you get rammed in the back and then hit the porsche? OR did you hit the porsche and then get rammed up the ass with this hyundai? if its #1, i don't see why you are at fault.
either way. glad u r okay!

And it sucks the most that the person who caused the accident went off without any damage. I wonder why they slowed down.
I can see why you're at fault because you hit the Porsche, but because of scumbags with shitty tires and no insurance, it becomes a whole lot more fun. I would sue her. But, probably doesn't have any money anyways.

Goddamn!! Sorry about the ridiculous situation. That person with those bald tires is a disgrace. It sucks being hit by an uninsured driver (been there). From experience, take it to court and make sure any errors on the report are corrected if the officer got facts wrong. If not, then put together all your evidence and get legal help. Hope all is well and good luck!

Damn man that sucks your car was rare and beautiful! Damnit Jamesha, that car wouldn't have been able to stop if it were 3x as far behind you...
Hope you heal quickly. Has the car been completely totaled? Perhaps salvageable...
