I want to add the Blaupunkt amp audio upgrade and have been searching around but still have a couple of questions. i would like to add the 5 channel amp but will this require running new speaker wires to the amps? i wanted to use their wire harness system to make it easy. if i do the 2 channel amp what two channels will it power. will it increase power to the front subs or rear?

hopefully i can add the 5 channel amp, replace the subs with the sws8's and use their wire harness without running any additional wiring. is this possible?

No... the PnP harness doesn't apply to the USA 3 Series. All the discussions that you have read in this forum about using the full PnP harness with the THA amps are of Euro 3 Series with the non-HiFi audio system.

i do not have the hi fi audio. is the 2 channel amp upgrade even possible?

You do have at least the HiFi OEM if your 3 Series is an USA version... are you in Florida or not? That's what it says in your profile.

In the UK we have no amp with our basic system - thats why some add this Blaupunkt amp etc. We dont even get tweeters!

We can upgrade to Hifi loudspeaker system and Hifi DSP when ordering a car

In the US your "basic" system is the Hifi loudspeaker system (with amp and tweeters), and adding the blaupunkt Pnp amp using the adapter harness isn't an option unfortunately.

i do live in florida. my 328i has the bmw professional radio. i did not know it was the hi fi system, sure doesn't sound it. crutchfield acted like the parts would work, but if i understand the consensus here is no?

If you have 4 visible tweeters in the front and rear then its a no-no

There is either a HiFi (standard) or a Top HiFi (Logic7) system in your car. Either way, the PnP harness will not work but the THA amp by itself will work, only by custom wiring it, though.
