Headlights

Look at the headlight, looks like its dirty where the light shines thru. I wiped it and its still there. Has it burned the plastic or something?

anyone else noticed this?

Look around the big first ring on the left, look at the front of the glass.

Not a clue Carlos TBH, is it on the outside of the headlight cover? If so something may have sprayed off the road etc. then the lights heat it up. Does it feel pitted?

I had this on an old car of mine & could only put it down to road shite of some sort & chemical reaction with the plastic?

Looks too big for dust/debris on the inside so I would do for impact marks on the outside, I guess the cover is plastic?

That what happens when things hit your car when you are travelling at waharp factor 10

Yeah, looks like dirt/dust on the inside to me as well. Easy/hard to remove and clean?

Certainley had it on both of the e46s, which incidently both had Xenons. Haven't really noticed it so far on the 335. I think it's dust that has stuck to the polycarbonate cover when the lights are on. It seems only Xenon equipped cars suffer it, probably due to the higher temperatures inside the light unit.

Regards

Chris

If it really bothers you, remove them and see if they can be cleaned, if not replacements can't be too expensive can they ? (realising that this is a BMW so they won't be £5 either)

I know what you mean.

I'd be embarassed to drive a car with headlights like that.

I think they only way forward would be to sell it and buy a proper one that runs on petrol.
