Permenant water spots on Clear Bra and dulling

I installed the clear bra on my 335 about 9 months ago. I even got the expensive kind where it has an added glossy coating so it'll match the clear coat shine on the paint. It's definitely shinier than the previous clear bra I had on my other bimmer. However, after the summer rain, it left water spots on the clear bra which appears to be permanent. I used nanowaxes and polishes but no positive results. The sucky part is that the clear bra is also losing its shine and I had my whole car laminated. I have clear bra on my front bumper, 1/3 of hood, fenders, mirrors, all 4 doors and around the whole rear bumper. Basically 360 degrees. I had bad luck with my previous car in parking lots.

Any suggestions on how to get back the shine and most importantly remove the water spots? How can you even get water spots in soft plastic??? I can't leave my work area just to dry my car after each summer rain shower. Thanks in advance. - Chris

I've never had a bra, but can you tell for sure the water spot in ON the bra, as opposed to UNDER the bra? It might take quite a bit of rubbing to get a spot under

I'd try plexus first but if that doesn't work I'd try Meguiar's PlastiX. Let us know how it goes.

I've had clear bra (3M product professionally installed) on 3 cars and the only thing you should use on it is Plexus for cleaning and aiding the flexibility of the material.

For waxing or providing a finish on the clear bra you should use 3M's Gloss Enhancer. Using any kind of typical "wax" product is strongly discouraged as this can cause the clear bra material to haze, and depending on some products cause it to become brittle.

I would recommend checking out 3M's website.

I use Plexus to clean mine and Rejex to protect the film. It keeps anything from sticking to the bra.

Great Information!

I apologize for getting back to you all so late. I was away for a month. Where can I get Plexus and 3M Gloss Enhancer?? My '07 335i turned out to be a lemon so BMW is swapping it with the new '08 335i. I'll start using Plexus after I get the ClearBra installed on the '08 model. Thanks alot and thanks to everyone who replied.

Chris.

Actually, you are NOT supposed to use wax on the clear bra, this can cause yellowing ect. Just use Plexus on the bra.

I got mine from my friend who installs the clear bras.
