Hey guys,

I'm a noob here but I want to thank you guys in advance for taking the time to listen to my questions.

In reading through most of this thread, it appears the choice of preference is really between mtec and lux. However, in reading the mtec specs for the AEs (v3 & v4) they all appear to not be compatible for e90 LCIs halogens? Can someone help me confirm this?

If they are not, looks likes besides going the cheap route with the GP Thunders, the LUX is the next best thing and compatible for e90 LCI halogens?

Thoughts?

I have a 2011 328i XDrive btw...

We offer the LUX E90 LCI Halogens which are a plug and play solution for the angle eyes on your car. I'm nto sure how the other brands are out there but our lights are a 6500k white color and they are as bright as we can make them They are currently available through our website

Look up auto couture motoring "ACM" angel eyes. They do the same work and are much easier to get in touch with. I believe you could PM Sal@autocouture

Hello everyone, I guess I am what you could consider a "noob" to this forum. I recently bought a 2008 BMW 328i E90 sedan with halogen headlights and no angel eyes (AE). I have read through every single post on this particular thread (34 pages!) regarding my upgrade and I am still somewhat confused. Two questions: first, I do not know if I have LCI or pre-LCI (or the difference for that matter). Second, I am one click away from ordering Umnitza's P90 headlights with FX-R retrofit. I am having a hard time deciding on their Orion v2 or v4 for the angel eyes though. I have seen pics of the v2 on Page 32 or 33 and they look very bright (what I am going for) but I assume that is an older version compared to the multiclor v4. I just don't know what the difference would be. Does anyone have a pic or suggestions/comments that might help me out? If I had $2 grand to drop, I would just buy OEM and have the rings upgraded with OSS LED's.... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If I have a 2006 330i e90 Sport package with Xenons ...do I need to take off the wheel and wheel well to replace the OEMs with the LUX H8 V3? According to your site, the LUX H8 V3 are installed without taking off the wheel and wheelwell.

However, the LUX E90 on the same car do need one to take off the wheel and wheelwell.

Nevermind, I think I am just going to go with the Umnitza P90's. Once I figure out what setup I want, I plan on ordering them Monday. I will post pics once I get them in and installed. They seem like the best bang for the buck for a halogen to xenon conversion...

I'm no expert, still trying to make a decision myself but I have the same car but XI and from what I understand the H8 are not compatible with your car. You need something that will fit a pre-lci e90 with xenons (lux e90 5.2) Pretty sure you can avoid taking off the wheels if you have smaller hands.

I am debating between Lux E90 5.2, Mtec V3's, or Mtec V4's at the moment.

Thank you for your response, and you are correct.

I'm thinking about picking these up, plus the price looks right as well.

I just took a look at those, seems most people are pleased with them. The thing I don't like about them is that they have an external resistor that doesn't fit in the housing. So you have to tape it outside which isn't an issue. The issue is that to run the resistor to the AE you have to leave the back cover off the housing or drill a hole in it for the wires. I don't want to have a way for moisture to get into my lights, it's sealed for a reason. Just something to be aware of as there are options that do t have this problem.

Thank you. I know someone local who will just install the OEMs in which I'm fine with. The parts are quite cheap in comparison to what is linked in this thread.

Noob needs help w/ pre-lci AE upgrade/conversion

Hello All, I am also a noob on here and to modifications. I have a pre-lci '08' 335xi. I don't know if I have halogen or xenon, how to tell or even what difference is for that matter. I do know that my AE's are a yellowish color and not bright white as I would like them to be. So my question is what are my best plug-n-play options to upgrade my lighting. Do I need a kit or just bulbs? Thanks in advance for your help?

I don't think you could even get a 335 without the xenon lights so you probably have those. All you need is a pair of pre-LCI lights, no kit or anything. When I say pair, you order a set and they come with 2 which is all you need.

Thanks. I did alot of reading since that post and came to the same conclusion. I ended up going with just an AE upgrade to LUX 5.2's. Thanks again.
