Excellent Traffic Help

Some people may be aware of these two excellent resources... I wasn't.

Probably one of the most useful of sites before you set off from home or work on your journey....

Traffic Jam Cams. The AA one is a simple camera selector for any camera on the major arteries. Showing you real time snaps.

The Traffic England allows you to see the cams, matrix messages, current traffic speed, roadwork details, incidents and weather on the route. Pretty cool stuff.

Sure our Satnav and TMC gives simple traffic warnings, but this allows you to very quickly check the state of the major areas before setting off...

Another useful site is

www.trafficmaster.net

You need to register (for free) but then you can access the Traffic Master network in real time

ALSO

From the same site as alcook posted:

http://www.trafficradio.org.uk/

If your mobile has internet access, you can play these whilst on the move.

Cool sites, thanks. I've always used trafficmaster.net which is always accurate but you can't beat seeing it live!

Yep, I use these... especially traffic england. Often though the weather info is incorrect and the boards are showing signs on the web, but not on the road.

Still gives a good idea of what to expect and especially if there is a delay, I have always planned around them since using this site.

If you use the RAC website you can access what I think is the trafficmaster data without registering. I use it all the time.

I let my car do it dynamically. When driving up north, the nav system took me off the M6 to go up A roads and I kept moving at a steady albeit slow pace.

Great sites - been using the Traffic England for some time now but never knew about the other one.
