Thanks for the fitting guide. But as has been said before, you don't need to remove the tab from the elbow duct. You can cut a small slot in the silicone hose to align with the tab.

Yeah saw that, I didn't want to cut a slit in the hose - easier to cut off the plastic tab + I already have an entire xtra OEM intake duct from salvage yard layin around from when I was planning on whacking off the silencer and gluing a plug in. So if I ever want to replace I already have the elbow with a tab...

This hose was much less trouble then modifying OEM & it still wouldn't have been perfectly smooth inside

This may gain 1-2hp(not that one can realistically measure that difference), but there is no way you are going to feel it "pulling harder". A less than 1% gain in power is not perceptible.

Well, after my first drive with the hose today, I still don't notice any increased noise (which is fine by me) unless it just can't be heard over my PE

I did notice that the car seems to build rev's faster & it feels more 'spry'

My throttle response hasn't really changed - but then my car is tuned with the Vishnu OFT, so the throttle reponse is already greatly improved over stock as part of the performance tune.

I think there's a noticeable difference in sound on the videos I posted. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. Not bad for the price.

As I said, this *might*(really doubt it) get you 1-2 HP at the crank. There is no way of knowing as that is well inside the range of variance from one dyno pull to another. It certainly will not provide a perceptible change in performance.

We all hear what you are saying Stiggie. Having said that there are similar products for other cars that provide real world increases in drive-ability and HP

1 example is the HPS silicone intake for the 8th gen Civic SI. Having owned and installed on a Civic I can tell you that it does work (for that car)

Taken from the thread and matched with my exp.
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/intak...ml#post5098756

"Differences I noticed

Throttle response seems better

RPM down low doesn't bog as much

Smoother powerband from idle to redline"

This paired with Charcoal delete/K&N-AFE would realistically provide a noticeable HP bump

This isn't a Civic, and you can't compare mods cross platform. Similar mods for other BMWs give 1-2 HP(if we even consider that measurable). I see no reason to think the N52 is an outlier in this regard.

Just group this in with intakes, charcoal deletes, secondary cat deletes, and all the other assorted things people do because they(the mods) are cheap.

1-2hp seems about right. I'm looking to see what a larger tube, in addition to my Dinan kit will do. Hopefully a nice bump in torque and a bit more top end breathing.

Man I hated that that mid power dump on my BRZ.

It looks worse than the 4500 drop on these cars, though they have been doing amazing things with trying to tune out most of it.

Yeah, it feels terrible behind the wheel.

Frankly, the entire car needed 100hp more and some proper damping.

I heard better tires (instead of the Prius spec tires) would do wonders as well. I like them, but that engine isn't my cup of tea (especially for the price)

I would argue the opposite.

Ditch the tires and you have a really slow car with too much grip. Nothing interesting at all happens. You need their limited grip for the power slide based fun.

Yes I agree, no straight comparison can be made. In theory, the concept is solid and works on other car engines

No need to shit on the OP's parade, he took the time to come up with nice upgrade that potentially, when used in conjunction with other simple mods, can net HP gains.

Thanks OP
