Fbo 328 > G37?

Has anyone ever done a pull against a g37 and actually won? I did a 70 to 100 pull against a G and he only pulled half a car length on me when I was in 6th gear giving 70 - 80% throttle. I was thinking that my margin of loss would be greater given the G puts down a little over 70 more whp.

If you weren't at WOT, he probably wasn't either. Not to mention you were in 6th gear.

Until someone is able to run low 14s/high 13s - G series cars will be out of our range.

70-100 is not a race. Plus if you were 3/4 throttle, he was probably 1/2 throttle. G's aren't fast but they are much faster than a 328

x2x....

this wasnt a race....and if it was the guy driving the G would of won easily.

we are about .4-.5 behind them in the 1/4 and .2 to 60mph or so.

a f30 328i would be a whole lot better with the extra TQ we dont have

I'm sure he was WOT in his 6th because his engine was making lots of noise while he was accelerating. In this situation if I had known he was going to actually stop me from getting into his lane I would have downshifted and floored it.

Actually you know I've run a 14.4 with a 2.3 60ft, I'm sure that with some practice I could pull a 2.1 and be close to flat 14's, that was with k&n filter & some cheap air scoops. Add a proper intake/headers/full exhuast/tune/and that silicone tube that gives 10hp haha just kidding... and I guarantee you I'll put it in the 13's, oh yeah forgot to mention that's an automatic!

Also take into account that our cars below 60mph/h are pretty slow (maybe more pronounced to me because auto?) anyhow, I think it's for all of as, I mean it's a pretty heavy car with little torque and in theory gearing is comprimised at low speed so it can be shorter on higher speeds.. so again not to our advantange

So in summary don't race below 60mph/h and a FBO328i could be in the 13's however it won't beat a g37, it will win against other g35's, close races with some 350z depending on mods, will lose against a 2007g35 sedan (light and 300hp)

I think a fbo f30 328 can handle all the g series stock. He wouldn't have attempted to keep a 335 out of his lane I was just trying to get into the merging lane cause this civic that was tailing him was keeping me out cause I don't know. I wasn't looking to race him or the civic for that matter.

hmmm looking around I see both the g35 2007 sedan and the g37 2008 hit the 1/4 ~ 13.9 (magazines times... they're probably not far off)

so I take it back, I see no reason why an FBO 328 couldn't take any of those

Those times seem off... I think they're supposed to be faster, I take back the take back comment.

If your bolt-ons include the new ESS supercharger kit, sure.

No way are you going to take a 328 with just bolt-ons\tune. I had a 07 328 with perf exhaust, tune, 3 stage manifold, euro intake and I could not take my buddies G37 sedan. The G37S coupe would have totally shitted on me. In the 335 I pretty much rocket past the sedan with little effort.

Like Alex said you will need a supercharger to be able to take the G37.

He couldn't pull off on me but I was some where near the rear door. And this was a run from a dead stop. I can walk on him with ease with the 335.

My dad`s 2013 g37x sedan destroys me... no n52 can f*ck with it
~330Hp/26xTq with a nice auto tranny really moves the ~4K lbs of a pig sedan which it is.
Sounds sick also

that 3.7L v6 is definitely amazing

So to summarize: If you beat a G37 in a N52 then he was not racing you.

Over here in Red Bank, NJ is dusted a Veyron once, oh umm he was parked though.

Bone stock 37 sedan will shit all over a 328! They are 7 speed auto and I've seen stock ones run 8.6-8.7 in the 1/8th mile...now m/t with a crappy driver is a different story

I'm pretty sure sedans are lighter than coupes - so I believe they are quicker.

Don't be so pessimistic guys lol, the g37 as a lot of cars will feel much faster because of the lack of torque on our cars, that doesn't mean that they're that much faster. Again, I talk from my personal experience with my car (so I can't vouch for a FBO 328i), I've raced at least 2 g35's that I remember and the outcome was very similar, they were both modded, one I beat by 2.5CL from 100km/h to 200km/h, the other one was harder to say because of the context of the race, however one thing I can say is that I was faster, don't know how much....

Was I lucky? Were there both G35's earlier models that had less hp and auto like mine? maybe ... if not I see no reason why if I would go FBO on my 330i to not be able to at least keep up with a g37 from a 60+mph roll

and again really depends on the year of the car/driver/transmission/etc... I've heard people getting beaten in their 335i by a g37 as others beating one in their almost stock e36m3....so go figure...

that being said next time I see one, I'll try to see if I can get him to do a little pull and will let you guys know how badly I've got beaten lol
