+ 1.
The politicians are always safe. Its always the normal human beings that get affected the greatest in all conflicts. This is what really gets to me. |

Often over shadowed by WW2, WW1 was fought with bravery beyond words.
Children often ask out of curiosity about how it all started and what it was all about hopefully the 100 years commemoration on TV and alike will educative to ensure ghost this Great War is firmly engrained into their minds and their children in the future. We owe everything to every solider from WW1 along with WW2 who's bravery has allowed us to live life as we do today. ![]() R . I . P |

Ive read alot of information regarding the wars over the last few days, and despite being 36 years of age, each time I read something I learn something new and I probably still do not fully appreciate the actions of all those who were involved and that changed the world as we know it.
Inspiring and tragic at the same time. Ive bought one of the poppies that will be on display at the Tower of London, I think its quite iconic and will be a talking point for the kids in years to come. |

Thank you guys for posting your respects, I know this is a car forum, but don't you think it is sad that over 240 people clicked it and only 7 bothered to reply.
Sign of the times I suppose.... |

yeah dont get too hung up on it, for some its important, others can be blissfully aware.
I have a 19 year old that works for me, and last week we discovered he was of the understanding that the world war was in Iraq a few years ago. Not really sure what is taught in schools as part of the history subject, but clearly half of the kids don't actually listen anyway.... |

I guess as each decade goes past, less people will remember it, which is a shame.
But in the future i'm sure we will have more innocent soldiers and civilians dying to feed the political schemes of this world. |

Anyone that looked at the thread must have had a good idea what it was about, it's been all over the news... So you look at it, click it and then think, fuck them mugs don't make a difference to my life.... Well let me tell you people that did not even bother doing a +1.... The thread was to respect anyone who died in World War 1.... so for most of us, it was the Great Grandmother/Greatnan/great Grandfather/Great Grandad that gave birth to your parents ... If you think in this day and age you have nothing, then think again because these people had fuck all apart from the fact they had each other... Right or Wrong, they were called to fight for their country, on the German side or the other side however you want to look at it.. FFS we are talking about millions of people killed here... I mentioned in a thread recently that I was glad that I have had no children, was this because I cant or chose not too, nobody knows, but the one thing I do know is the way society is these days - I am so glad I did not, god forbid there is a WW3 because everyone of us will be fucked up big time.... But I can honestly say this guy has a passion for what he believes in and I for one would fight alongside him... From what I can see on this thread MO, you are the only Muslim that has bothered to post - you have my upmost respect for that mate.... |

![]() To be honest a lot of people nowadays just have a negative opinion on Muslims in general, IMO its the politicians/media who are making Muslims into scapegoats, just to legitimise their immoral actions. You must have heard of Divide and Conquer, as that's exactly how to win. Any questioning by Muslims of western actions immediately result in calling them extremists, as seen in the Palestine thread! I have respect for all soldiers (except for those bastards who kill for fun, rape and pose with dead bodies), they are just doing their jobs at the end of the day. Its just the bloody politicians i hate. Also a lot of people forget, there were a lot of Muslim soldiers who fought for us in WWI. |
