Time for a new TV

Its been a while since i bought a TV and it seems you can get a lot for your money nowadays!

I don't want to spend more than 500 and needs to be bigger than 42". I also like the idea of the smart TV's....

I was about to pull the trigger on a Panasonic TX42AS500B which looks great value at 419 from Richer Sounds.

But thought I'd check here to see if anyone would recommend anything else?!

LG seem to have the best value TV's at the moment imo. The smart functionality is really good, they have a lot of apps and everything just works with very little hassle or setup.

I know it is slightly out of budget so how about THIS ONE

Panasonic give the best picture and doesn't kill your eyes as much as other brand. I find samsung way too bright , it hurts watching after a while.

LG is good too

Sony W605B.

Superb and a big step up from the Panny imho.

Direct backlight so not plagued with the issues of 99% of LED sets, uneven backlight bleed.

I went from generations of Panny professional plasmas and Pioneer Kuros to a Sony W905 and it is very good, I was so pleased with it I bought a 605 as well to replace my old Panny plasma. The 605B is one of the TV bargains of the last decade imho, it is blinding.

Thanks chaps, I spent a lot of time in Curry's looking at the LG's they are exceptional value and quality was very impressive....

Good to see that the Panasonic gets good feedback.

A friend swears by Samsung but not been sold on them.

I always used to swear by Panasonic but recently bought an LG for the bedroom and it had a very good picture and excellent value. I also have a samsung that isn't too bright but it had to be set up with the correct settings. Any set is only as bright as the settings. Many sets in shops will have variable inputs, different settings etc. Read a few reviews, Richer Sounds offer a very good deal.

Panasonic always rate highly for me

Having said that last 2 led tvs have been samsung

1st was great second was stunning. Problem is I can't remember what model it is. Not at home at the moment but pretty sure it was a 6 or 7 series. Had all the pic controls etc.

It is incredibly life like. Incredible depth, blacks whites and contrast. So good it looks life like.

Pretty sure it was this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-UE46...ds=Samsung+led
