Long Island | Karts & Coffee

Hey Guys,

I want to see how many would be interested in a bi-monthly, sunday morning, meet at the new Pole Position in Farmingdale. I know the manager and I'm trying to work out a deal for us but the regular price is 25/race which is not bad since two races against good competition is satisfying.

I went this past weekend and the their layout is awesome. First sector, coming out of the pits down the first straight flat-out into a left-hander then flat-out through a chicane and then another flat-out blind left hander to hard braking.

I have done leagues with Pole Position and the service and prizes are great. They are a very accommodating bunch.

Right now only 10 drivers per race but will be 12 in the coming months. If we get a solid 10 every sunday that would be awesome.

Please let me know if your interested and any driving experience you have, HPDE, Schools, comp licenses, etc...

https://www.polepositionraceway.com/long-island/

thanks guys/girls. lets make this happen

**EDIT**
Start time would have to be 10am to accommodate us. There is a Starbucks 2 min away that has a big parking lot we can meet and then head over.

It might be far for you depending where you are in NJ. The grippe titan guys host HPDE events don't they? Would Sunday morning or Saturday morning work better for you? Karts are the best way to start.

Awesome, one person in! Any driving experience, schools? Just trying to gauge the level of the group.

i should really update that profile. I'm located in queens, ny (bayside). farmingdale should probably be 25min drive from where i am. id say sunday mornings (not the first sunday of the month).

okay cool. I was thinking just every other sunday but we can confirm dates a month in advance if that helps everyone.

I might be interested as well. The only track experience I have is in Gran Turismo lol. Sundays mornings would be perfect if everything works out.

Ohh man I would love to get in on this. I bowl Sunday mornings though from fall to spring from about 10:30-12:30. I live all of 10-15 minutes away from Farmingdale too.

well i really wanted this to be a early morning thing so we actually have our coffee and small breakfast then hit the track. Place opens at 9am so ideally it would start at 9. You could be out 10...

who bowls anyway.. hahah jk I love bowling with a ice cold pitcher

whats up dude. they opened about 2 weeks ago so the karts are FRESH and quick, brake lights, and what feels light less steering input is needed.

track is a little bumpy at sections so it understeers a bit but i figured out as long as you ease into it after the apex your good. I was smashing the throttle at the apex in my first race and had bad wheel hop/understeeer because of the track.

How early is too early? 9:30-10?

I am interested. Track looks a little narrow but it will be fun anyway.

I have my SCCA full competition license.

My family used to co-own the go-kart track in westhampton before it got shut down/turned into a retirement community. They just got approval to finally build the track in riverhead after 10 years of legal battles. That one should be pretty good. I'll be able dust off my 125cc shifter

I was waiting for you to chime in. This track is much better and almost as long at jersey cites superG.

We have close to 10 so ill make an official event with date time and locations. I know you could probably set this up in your sleep.

awesome! and yes narrow but just enough room for passing. Theres a place upstate I've been meaning to go that rent Tags and rotax for the day. I would love to hop in yours for a few laps once you guys get the track built. Of course ill pay for the time.

where will it be in riverhead? I have family on shelter island so i am out there often.

It will be on Edwards Avenue, right near 25 (between expressway and 25, take exit 70 north).

Supposedly this is the proposed layout.
