Black Sapphire or Jet Black
I'm about to buy a 335i sedan in Jet Black on Black leather with aluminum / sport / premium / nav, but I'm a little skeptical on the Jet Black. However, I think the Sapphire looks almost lighter in the sun...so it seems.
Any opinion on the matter? |

if you never owns a black car in the past, I'd suggest you to get sapphire since it is metalic paint; hence shows less swirl marks under sunlight.

i have black sapphire 328i, and my girlfriends mom has jet black 325i. her car already started showing swirl and scratch marks under the sunlight. i personally prefer black sapphire, but it gets dirty real quick. im planning to do wax and polish soon.

(a fully detailed JB will last you maybe 30 minutes of shine during day time....about a week (at best) of looking shiny and pristine during night time) Quote:

yes. (so shiny...but IMHO clean alpine white with the right wheels can beat JB)) |

Jet Black is awesome when it's clean. Depends if you're someone that would clean the car and detail it often because it gets swirls so easily. I got so many swirls right now that I need to get detail soon. When the car is clean and shinny, it looks really nice. Too bad I'm not someone that would clean it often so I would've been better off with a Saph Black, but oh well.

if you can maintain a car, (keeping her clean, weekly to bi-weekly washes) and you know how to wash a car (microfiber towels/sheepskin mitt etc) then get jet black, it just looks richer and deeper...
if you're lazy, plan to take the car to the car washes on the corner that charge $14.99, and park it outside and not in a garage, get alpine white or some sort of grey... all kidding aside, metallic paint jobs tend to hide swirls a little better than their non-metallic counterparts... |
