try this

If you are doing an ED then you can get 1000 over invoice. If not then I doubt you could, maybe 1500. I mass emailed every dealership in so cal with an offer and 12 of the 20 or so accepted my 1000 over ED invoice for a e90 ED. You should try that method regardless as it is the quickest and least time consuming way to get some competition and you don't have to talk to or visit anywhere.

Ever since I've been on this thread... i never heard of anyone mentioning STERLING BMW... they're pretty good with customers and gave me $1000 discount since i ordered back in MAY. I don't know about service but they seem to be very professional... first they sent me free keychain then after a while they sent me a BMW travel blanket. Haven't got my car service there yet but i'll post the review after i get one.

I was also thinking the same thing, but you beat me to starting the thread . It appears that So. Cali dealers are not nearly as generous as bay area dealers are when it comes to money off MSRP. Everyone post the amount paid over invoice to see who got the best deal and where...it would definitely help the rest of us. My last resort of course is to travel up to the bay area to order..but I'd prefer not to.

Well I think someone needs to get this thread going so I'll be the first to add some recommendations. After e-mailing Harloff BMW and Brecht BMW--both in North San Diego county--I was able to get very reasonable quotes above invoice. Harloff offered $1300 and Brecht $1200 above invoice inclusive of MACO and ad. fees. PM me for contacts.

Nope not at all. As long as you do your research. My suggestion to you would be to price out your BMW with invoice prices listed, total it with destination fees and e-mail it to the internet sales departments of various dealerships(you can get their emails from the BMW USA site) asking them what their best price over invoice is. I e-mailed 2 dealerships, both of them responded within 24 hours offering between $1300 and $1500 inclusive of MACO/advertising fees. The key is not to mention MSRP when you do this and do all the work. When the dealer sees that you're doing your homework and not wasting his time, you're more likely to get a better discount. So between $1000 and $1500 is not too much to expect at all.

let's see....

I got my 330i E90 when it was the old invoice... with premium package, sports package, titanium metallic silver, destination charge, advertising and training fee ($400 total, listed on their invoice), came out to be $43k otd... working backwards from DMV's webpage, the dealer made 'bout $1250 above invoice. (and free floor mats 'course)

The dealer's Continental Motors off of the 5 in Oceanside. It's a small, hassle free dealer that sells BMW and SAAB with only 2 salesperson, both with something like 30 years of experience each, and very pleasant to deal with :-) (Bruce was the one I dealt with)

Thanks. I followed your advice and the offers i got were from 1250-1600. Only 1 dealer had the exact car I wanted in two weeks and they offered 1400 over invoice including floormats which he claims to be be worth $150. Other charges included in my invoice price was satellite prep for $70, MACO for $330 and dealer training fees for $180. Are these all legitimate fees?

Those fees are legitimate, but the amount charged varies by region--for example I know for a fact that the fees charged in LA/OC are higher than SD. I would say $1400 INCLUSIVE of all misc. fees is a very good deal for an LA based dealer, jump on it.

bzzbenz,

What was your experience like with Crevier? I ordered mine from them on 7/20 and am scheduled to take delivery on 9/16 or so. Thus far I've been treated quite well and have been kept updated on the status of my vehicle each time its status has changed.

BMW of Riverside

My experience w/ BMW of Riverside is fantastic. But then again my family is there A LOT. The service and sales staff knows my dad by name and recognizes me and my brother from our cars. I give them a thumbs up but like dealing with any service/sales people - I think if you are courteous and respectful they are more likely to be also.

I had a great experience at Crevier. Then again it helps to know the GM of sales.

Bob Smith in Calabassis.... suprisingly great deal and very well run biz. So far, no complaints. For the record, their first quote beat nearly everyone else that I shopped. But their attitude, and overall help was worth it. I suggest if you can talk to Paul Del Gato, you'll be quite satisfied.

South Bay BMW gave me $800 above invoice. But the just like other dealerships, no follow up after the sale is made.

I also got mine from South Bay BMW - I got a good deal compared to other dealers, but after they sell you the car, like you said no follow-up. He threw in the floor mats though, so that was cool.
