Interior Modification

I have a E90 but without navigation...and I want to put a Navigation system/TV inside of it... I find the Indash flip out TV to be too ugly and not esthetically pleasing to the look of the interior.

I have Photoshoped the picture to include in dash TV Navigation and a Rear view Mirror TV (for a backup camera)

Opinions on the look!?!?!?!?! Recommendations/Alternatives ??????????

That looks pretty good to me. If you can make it look like that, I say go for it.

That looks great! Is there room for a double DIN unit when you take out the original head unit?

In this photoshoped pic, I had to lower the AC air controls to the bottom in order to have enough space to harness the in dash Pioneer (which is not to scale).

But I will let you guys know If I find a Kit that allows for such a modification.

I have to agree though, that the System is too low to one's eye sight.
I'm working on another sketch for a on dash TV , probably where the upper AC vents are.

I've seen an E90 double-DIN mounting frame for sale and it looked exactly like your p-Shop with the lowered HVAC controls. I don't know if it was a production part or a one-off, though.

after looking around i think the flip out may be my best bet. i am a little hesitant to have anyone do the work required for an in dash navigation. i really dont even need it I just want the screen for DVDs and aesthetic purposes.

nowhere, as far as I can tell. Time to get creative

edit: actually, it looks like there's room for the stock buttons off the top left and right corners of the stereo bay in that picture. Dremel to the rescue...

You should of just ordered navi from the begining for 1900. The cost now might be a little more or the same and it still wont look that good since it is that low.

Dude that's to low. everything you need to look at the nav you will have to look down. God forbid some idiot stops short and you're looking down.

That can be a safety issue... Might want to stick with dash nav. Or photoshopp something where the nav is up top.

Way too low! Wouldn't be safe, and it would definitely be inconvenient to look down every time you want to follow your Nav. The angle would also be uncomfortable. I think the factory nav's location on these cars is excellent...to bad the navigation itself sucks compared to other navigation systems (i.e., lexus)

looks better in the dash, even if it is too low - the mirror one looks a bit tacky
