Question Aftermarket 16-inch rims plus stock 325i tires?

Okay, I love everyone's rims, but after spending so much on a 325i, I'm on a budget! So what are my options? I'm considering replacing the stock 16-inch rims with new (affordable) aftermarket 16-inch rims and keeping the stock 325i tires. Is this possible? What would my installer do? "Unglue" the stock rims from the stock tires and then "glue" the aftermarket rims to the stock tires?

Yeah, it's possible..... However you have to remember that these are runflats. The rims have a special lip inside them for the run-flat tires. Check Tirerack.com for rims. If I were you, I would try to find some 330i standard rims (non SP). That way you'll have 17's with all-season tires that look better than any 16's on the 325. With 330 owners wanting to unload their stock rims, I bet you can find a brand new set for less than a grand. I saw some on Ebay a few days ago.

There's no glue involved, it's just mounting/unmounting the tires from the wheels.

the glue your talking about is not glue, like res ipsa said. all it is a bead.

Oh, my apologies. I always thought the tires were glued onto the rim. I didn't know they were simply mounted on.

e90 325i, style 156 , rims+tires for sale.

wongmb,

I am interested in selling my stock 16" 325i rims+tires that come with the e90. The rims have about 1900 miles on them, but they are all european highway miles, because I participated in the European Delivery Program. There is absolutely no damage. The car is being delivered by BMW next week or the week after.

I can't wait to get rid of these rims+tires, so if interested please contact me.

Srry, I'm actually not selling my rims + tires.
When purchasing my car, I made the dealer buy back the stock rims + tires from me. So I'm actually looking for some aftermarket rims now.

Icedragon, can you tell us about that deal? What did the dealer give you for the OEM rims and tires, and what/how much did you get for their replacements?

So basically u have no wheels right now? lol

That's an awesome deal. The day of delivery u can just bring your set of rims with you and have the dealer mount them and drive off. And you got money back from trading in the stockers. How much did they give u for the wheels?
