Official PROcede Beta Program

Hi guys,
We are thinking about trying something new. Well, not exactly new but just wider in spectrum and a bit more formalized. Until now, we've been working with a handful of local PROcede customers to help us test new updates/upgrades. What we want to do is extend this to a wider, more diverse group. The idea behind this is that we are missing out on PROcede users who live in different climates, altitudes, region with different gas formulas, have different modifications, etc,.

So what we are thinking of doing is establishing a forum beta testing program consisting of 20-30 users. These users will get access to upgrades/updates before anyone else. They will also get hardware upgrades at a discounted price. Software upgrades, as always, will be free. The updates/upgrades will already have been tested in our shop car as well as local cars. So consider this Beta Group to be the intermediate step between in-house/local testing and public release

Of course, in order to get the info that we need, there are going to be some requirements for these Beta testers. Some obvious. Some not-so-obvious. And they are:

1) Must have a intermediate levels understanding of engine management system. A perfect example of such a user is one who already has other modified/tuned cars.

2) Proficient laptop skills. This means that you if still can't get your USB-to-Serial adapter to work, please don't ask to be in this group

3) The ability to engage in technical discussions via email. If you can only correspond over the phone, it's going to be hard to coordinate things.

4) General level of "handiness". This means that you know what a crimp tool is and how to use it. If you know how to solder, even better!

5) The ability to conduct and analyze datalogs.

6) Agreeable to confidentially. We don't want to disclose what we are working on or how it works before it is ready for public release. This means that Beta testers should not reveal what they are testing to others. Also, all users must report any troubleshooting related issues directly to me via email and not post it on a forum asking the general populous for feedback. Sounds obvious but you'd be surprised.

7) And last, please don't take this the wrong way, you can't be scared little girl What this means is that if you can't wait a day or two for a bug to be solved and refuse to go back to pre-beta configuration, this program is not for you. If the idea of a SES light worries you to the point of not wanting to drive your car, this program is not for you. If you consider voltmeters to be exotic devices, this program is not for you.

Truthfully, we don't expect any issues to arise for this Beta Group. But not expected problems is different from not getting any. The idea behind this is to make sure there is not a stone goes unturned by the time an upgrade/update gets released to the public. And having a group of 20-30 extra-knowledgeable user out there is also a good thing.

So let me know what you guys think. How many people would be interested in this? If you aren't interested or don't meet all of the requirements, please say NO. No one will think any less of you

Looking forward to hear your feedback!

Cheers,
Shiv

I would be interested. I meet all the qualifications. Question though, do we need a boost gauge, I know in the past your beta testers have been required to have one.

I'm very excited about the possibility of being a Vishnu beta tester.

I meet all of the requirements except possibly having "different weather".

already voted yes.

Besides, i already work closely with Abid on my car, i think its a great idea and don't blame you given all of the variables that arose with V2.0x.

I'd like to volunteer, but I don't have a v2.
Will that be a problem?
