He's starting to look a little fuzzier, too.

The dog, not the owner.

All true Scooba - the key is not wrestling for stuff in the first place ie not initiating a contest for dominance. We used to have a German Wirehaired Pointer who was very trying in terms of wanting to be the Alpha male in the house. It took a while to sort the issues out, and a book called The Dog Listener by Jan Fennell really helped. It works on the principle that your dog sees your family as his pack; your job is to put him at the bottom of the pecking order (not by force - just through behaviour) and our dog certainly was far more chilled out as a result.

Ace pics BTW and he's a star. Beagles are cool

+1, Good piece of advice.

Any dog can be made into a wonderful pet with manners. It takes time patience and effort. unfortunately some people do not have these three things.

It messes with a dogs head when they get re-homed etc.

We've got a beagle. He's 8 years old now. Great dogs.

As you've discovered, they'll chew everything when a pup. Every leg on your furniture, every remote control, anything left in reach when they're a pup will have teeth marks in it!!

Naughty dogs, but good tempered and fun.

Make sure he doesn't take up smoking......
