E92 M3 Spoiler installed, opinions?

I just got my M3 lip last Thursday, had it painted Friday, and installed it Monday, along with my newly arrived license plate....the license plate took 10 months to get to me because the state of California is inefficient in every way possible (and they want to hit me up with renewal fees in March for a plate I just picked up a few days ago, on top of it).

Here are the pictures of the finished product, but I am looking for opinions on the right side of it, it seems a bit awkward...actually looks like the tape bonded to the back which fills the gap and makes it look a bit weird. What do you guys think?

Without further ado:

my shop told me not use the tape that comes with the lip.

it is better to use a special adhesive glue.

looks good from what i can see!

the e46 m3 and e39 m5 trunk lip spoilers use 3m double sided tape as well. i would not use glue for something that small.

I just dropped off my lip at my local body shop. I recieved it also on thursday. I am going to have it mounted with the tape that BMW uses from the factory . Since its cold here in NY i am going to let the car sit in the body shop overnight upon completion of the painted lip. This way the car will be warm and the tape will stick and seal much better than me doing it in my driveway in the cold.

I went with the advised adhesive for mine since I wanted to avoid that "tape gap". That said, yours looks good and at least from the distance the pictures are taken in your post, you can't see the gap.

Its not necessary. The spoiler will not come off with the tape. UNLESS you REALLY want to remove it.(and that will be hard but not impossible to do) But with betalink, you can't remove it. I have installed 6 spoilers with tape, at the advice of my brother in law who is a long time auto body repair tech, none has ever loosened. BTW, I think it looks great. IMHO, this spoiler is exactly what the back end of the 335i NEEDS. It frames the rear end. I believe that the stock rear without any spoiler is the weakest aspect of the car. To me, the car looks much more aggressive from the rear with all spoilers. The M3 spoiler just seems to integrate perfectly with the lines of the car.

Definitely needs to be about 70 F, or warmer, for the tape to adhere properly

The problem with these lips is when they paint the lips the contour of the lip is not precise..The finish is nice but once it installed with the contour of the trunk there is a curve and the finish is nice but a little wavvy...I don't understand why they can't make a lip that is perfectly contoured for the car...When you receive the lip its flexible and you need to bend it ever so slightly to meet up with the shape of the trunk, once you finish like i said from the side view its looks kind of wavy but not horrible...The finish is not the same as before you curve it alittle...Still looks nice though

why not to use BMW adhesive ? you can clearly see small gap ( first picture to the right) or maybe it's one bad picture ...

sweet ride !

I actually found a roll of 3M tape that is like .5mm thinner than the 3M tape that came with the Lip. I dont like the Tape gap from the BMW 3M tape. I did test the 3M tape that i have and it was a Perfect Fit !!!!!!!! I am thinking about removing my Lip and putting on the thinner 3M tape. It should take away the Tape gap

Just got mine too in Le Man blue and its way to wet and cold here so its a non starter at the minute...shame, i was advised by the BMW bodyshop that all M3 originals are taped and not stuck with betalink?.Cant see a gap but the colour does look a little out but that could be angles and lighting.
