Did you use a different key to start it?

This happened to me twice as well. All I did to get them back was to restart the car.

It was strange, all my presets, DRL settings, and audio EQ settings were gone until I restarted the car.

Computer glitch?

I had something similar happen to me... I only use one key, and I keep the other one in a box with my other spare keys. I went to unlock my door with the fob, nothing happened... had to use the pop out key to get in the car, and everything was factory settings. There's no way the key died, it was just in the socket a few hours earlier. Weird

This has happend to my car lately and is sporadic. I can leave the audio on, restart the car and the audio is off, when you turn on the audio, you have new new settings. I have a 06 325i.

I did have a software upgrade about two months ago to fix a cell phone issue and the dealer just replaced my fob.
