This was incredible

My take- Italy dominated the first half. But honestly they played pretty shitty throughout the rest of the game. France gave us many many problems, but we have Cannavaro

and Buffon

to back us up.

Zidane.. wow... what a freaking LOW LOW show of respect. I cant believe he head butted our player. His last showing is being kicked out w/ a red card for head butting. He deserved it. This was revenge, because trezegeut (SP), missed his PK, but a few years ago, his golden goal was the one to beat italy in the last 2 mins of the Euro Championship.

Zidane is known for that. A few years ago when he was playing for Juventus he gived a headbut to a player in Champions League, he got a five game suspension for that.

he doesnt deserves it, many super players didnt get the golden ball for thier behavour, and this was the top in that, headbutting a player when the ref isnt looking, thats so low...

i admired zidane before, but now, i only admire his skill, nothing else...

another thing, i feel that cannavaro's contribution 2 italy's win was more than zidane's contribution to france qualification 2 the final....

Somebody at bimmerfest posted the below...and I'm back to thinking soccer is one step above (maybe) 'pro' wrestling...

According to Globo TV (from Brazil) which hired lip reading experts to watch footage of the game, on at least two occasions, Materazzi called Zidane's sister "a ******* whore", screamed at Zidane that he was a "terrorist" and that a "half-Algerian had no place playing for France in the World Cup."

If that is actually true, it sort of flies in the face of FIFA and UEFA's attempts to remove racism from the game, especially in Spain and Italy. Their anti-racism campaign has been directed at fans, so perhaps they need to redirect their efforts ...
